"Went to Bernstein’s for a lunch. First time in many years. If you go I recommend the Rueben and the matzah ball deluxe soup. My kids had the pancakes which was fine. I ordered home fries and they came out as French fries. Call ahead or the wait can be quite long. the chicken soup is made right and the matzah balls taste so good my kids even loved them. The. Five stars is for the Jewish penicillin"

"I usually love Chicken Chef’s homey menu and quick fried chicken but I ordered today and the food was somehow both bland and over-salty, not to mention the overly oiled fish and the old, weird-tasting fries. You could tell the oil was old and had not been changed out in a while and the meals were just thrown together. The only thing that was good was the coleslaw."

"First time ordering and the food was excellent. They delivered and it came hot and the driver was friendly. The sauce is so good you want to drink it. The coleslaw was so good I tried to make it at home but it didn't turn out the same."

"Haven't been to the Salisbury House for years and wasn't expecting very much after being away so long. Miracle of miracles, our visit was exceptional and, I believe, much better than my best memories of a Winnipeg favorite. Clean with super friendly, professional staff, and excellent food made our visit exceptional. I can't believe that I have missed visiting for so long and I am disappointed in my expectation level but super happy that I'm back and Salisbury House is at the top of their game. Our server was dynamic, attentive, and very friendly while keeping us topped up with excellent coffee. Breakfast at Salisbury House has become my new standard of measurement and I pity the competition being compared to this gem."

Great value normally, especially so with the mailer/online coupons offered. Perfect 'diner food ' experience, founded locally, owned and operated locally. Child friendly too!"

"Pretty Good. Someone gave us $60 in Swiss Chalet coupons, so we decided to check it out. Our consensus? It was pretty good.<br/ <br/ When we came in it was very busy, but we only waited a minute for our table. We sat down and ordered an appetizer; chicken 'spring rolls. ' These are americanized interpretation spring rolls, and while they were nothing mindblowing, they were tasty.<br/ <br/ I had the half chicken dinner. I was impressed with the moistness and flavour of the chicken. It 's very good. The fries are nice and crispy. Can 't figure out the chalet sauce; it was kinda like gravy and kinda like cranberry sauce but it definitely had cinnamon and cilantro as well. It was also kinda like barbeque sauce, I suppose. it doesn 't taste like it looks. You 'd think it 'd be way stronger. I couldn 't understand it. The portions are pretty large so I took half of the chicken home.<br/ <br/ Someone else that I was eating with ordered ribs. I tried a bite and they were ok. St. Louis style as opposed to babyback. Not as tender but meatier. Whatever.<br/ <br/ Service was good, if not a tad slow, but it was an acceptable wait time considered the business.<br/ <br/ I wouldn 't hurry back to Swiss Chalet, but I would go there again if I am craving some rotisserie chicken."
