"Lovely hotel and bar, what we saw of it anyway! Popped in for a drink before visiting cliffhanger rooms up the road. Nice sitting outside overlooking the water and swans."

"Went for evening meal and the food was delicious. It was definitely no nonsense pub food but after a day walking around various lakes, it is just what was needed. The staff were really friendly, great selection of food, all served piping hot and despite significant portions, still managed room for a desert. I can thoroughly recommend the pie, it was a proper pie, no casserole with a lid, pretending to be a pie. Decor is a tad basic but if its good food, good beer and a relaxed atmosphere, you won't go wrong."

"The best pizza I have ever tasted in all my life, pudding was sensational lemon meringue. Slept like a baby in the huge comfortable bed, decor is amazing, views out of the bedroom window were lovely and breakfast was perfect. Can't wait to re-visit:"

"I would highly recommend Moresby Hall. The owners were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am a wheelchair user so was concerned about the actual accessibility of this grade 1 listed building. However they exceeded our expectations, having a designated, very well thought out, accessible apartment on the ground floor with every possible aid needed. Not only that but it was beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. Jane and David the owners were very welcoming, approachable and friendly, and they even made a amendment to the front door as my chair caught on a part of it. Breakfast was really nice, having a great selection to choose from and hot food made to order. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had and it felt much better than the buffet style English breakfast. The weekend went by very fast and I’d have loved to stay longer. Would highly recommend this beautiful hall as you won’t be disappointed."

"So pleased we found this pub. We are staying 10 minutes away in Lamplugh and read some amazing reviews for food and we were not disappointed. The portion sizes were HUGE we ordered beer battered fish and chips, the fish was cooked to perfection and chips were home cooked. We witnessed a burger leave the kitchen and it was so big! I had scampi which was delicious. We sat by the fire and enjoyed the cosy feeling around us. I would most definitely recommend this place."

"A quaint and quirky little shop situated in a gem of a village, Parton, Whitehaven. They offer an abundance of deliciousness including the gooeyest chocolate brownie slabs, humongous sweet and savoury scones, luxury Victoria sponges, lucious lemon drizzles, sticky gingerbread, melt in your mouth pies, and made to order dishes and desserts. They also provide other services including our 'cookie bar ', beautiful take away afternoon teas, luxury celebration cakes, occasion catering and simple one off dinner party menus."
