"My partner and my sisters loved this restaurant, as did I. Everything was top tier, the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes were delicious, shrimp and grits could easily compete with Charleston shrimp and grits. Drinks were mixed well and were raved about throughout our dinner. Bread pudding was very flavorful and rich, definitely met the mark! Service felt warm and welcoming! Prices were spot on for what I estimated dinner would cost, very reasonable and well worth it! Definitely a South Carolina gem and we are looking forward to our next visit when traveling up from Atlanta! Only regret is I didn’t take any pictures to add to this review, words can’t do the food justice!"

"The barred owl is by far a first class restaurant in columbia. everything from the relaxing atmosphere to the delicious food drinks is cured thoroughly, locally produced, beautifully presented. they will also be met with large service from the friendly staff management team. kudos to mackenzie, jacob, greg for many great experiences!"

"The service was horrible. We sat for at least 20 minutes before someone came to our table. We ordered an appetizer and a meal. It all came out at once. The food was good but that couldn’t make up for the service."

"We have been going to the Columbo's every Thanksgiving since we moved here 24 years ago except for during the Covid years (2), and it is very well handled, especially Jean, who takes care of the seating, etc. and we have seen her for the last 18 years. The food is delicious and a very good variety for everyone. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and helpful as is the carver and everyone associated with keeping the food supply coming!! I would recommend this to everyone."

"If you are in Columbia you HAVE to eat here!!! The food is incredible, the quality is consistent, and the variety makes it that much better. I think the truest testament to the food is how incredible the tomato sandwiches in the summer are. It is a true challenge to make the simple extraordinary and memorable but they do it everytime! I cannot replicate it no matter how hard I try. Their menu rotates with specials and they are always delicious. Highly recommend the deviled eggs and pimento cheese as well. Cannot rave about this place enough!!"

"The waiter Haden was the only good part. My brisket was awful and dry. The communication was not good either. We tried to get info to rent the patio and never got a reply. Our party was split and told we must all arrive together in order to be seated,that would be fine if we hadn?t seen other parties seated without the same rules as other people joined their table later. Themenu was lacking quite a bit. I would not recommend the place to anyone ever. The food definitely looks better than it was."
