"COVID: Floors were marked with arrows for which way you're supposed to go, took our temperatures at the door Food: Ordered a bunch of things to share I really liked the oyster motoyaki, grilled mackerel, red dragon roll, and grilled beef ribs all tasty. I liked less the chicken sausage skewer (came with dipping sauce and raw quail egg), and the ika sugatayaki (grilled squid). These two were okay but nothing special. Service: good; they checked in on us lots, asked if we needed drinks or anything else Other: lots of parking, located on a big street easy to find, easy to turn into Overall: I'd definitely come back"

"Great experience, friendly staff, fantastic value. We were walking in the area when we found Tokyo Joe's Sushi and went on a whim, why not? Pricing was super affordable, so we got an entire platter to share. The sushi is high quality, fresh, and delicious. Highly recommended the Beef roll, my personal favorite. My friends said the California Roll was incredible, same with the Dynamite roll. Definitely our go to Sushi for the area now!"

"Its so hard to find good traditional Japanese food these days. Seems like everywhere you go, its some sort of fusion style with rolls that have this sauce or that slathered on them. Whatever happened to letting the ingredients speak for themselves?At Shintaro Sushi, my wife and I finally found a Japanese restaurant that does just that. It has a smaller menu that showcases the ingredients. The Nasu Dengaku is a must try, it is a perfectly cooked eggplant with a sweet miso sauce. A reservation is recommended as the Chef/Owner is the only one in the kitchen. If you dont have a reservation, you will either be waiting a long time for people with a reservation to be served first or be turned away."

"This is not your traditional Japanese sushi bar. Run by a bunch of young Korean entrepreneurs, it puts its emphasis on fancy sushi rolls, sashimi, while the traditional nigiri is not overlooked. Red tuna and hamachi, the pricier fish, are also on its regular menu. There are also plenty of cooked food to order from, and the menu has a section on Korean food. Plating is fancy, quality good and fresh, portion adequate. Bento/lunch set available. Reasonably priced. California roll, arguably the most popular on the west coast, has an overwhelming amount of imitation crab meat while the avocado is miniscule - a disappointment to me. Service is brisk and efficient. Tables are tight. Located almost at the very western end of Chatham Street, so it‘s quite a bit far from Steveston‘s business central. Reservation recommended, even for lunch. 3 exclusive spots outside, otherwise free street parking shouldn‘t be a problem. Major credit cards accepted."
