"Went on Sunday for brunch with my husband. We had the small and large vegetarian breakfasts and both were extremely poor. The vegetarian “bacon” was vile why even bother when there are so many nicer things that could be served. Small breakfast was three slices...of “bacon” which were cold, a single small sausage, two slices of tomato and an egg. The large had the same but with an extra sausage, beans, mushrooms and hash brown. Really poor show and very expensive for what you get. Could not possibly recommend. Wish we had gone to Wetherspoons instead."

"I have been going into Birds since I was a kid and have always found it a relaxing place to eat.They also did the catering for my Dads 80th which was great success. Recently they changed the menu which I found disappointing and didn't go so much. The bacon egg and chips was lovely which they stopped doing. I lover the fact that it hasn't changed much since it has been open which is part of its charm. and you can watch the world go by from the window. Was really gutted to find out the cafe' is now closing. Can't you change your mind and get Mary Queen of shops to help give it a new lease of life instead of relocating?"

"It's the first time I've been to Mrs Wong's but it certainly won't be the last. It's not licensed so you can bring your own drink if you want or have a soft drink or Chinese tea which is what I had. The atmosphere is homely, and relaxing and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The star though is the food, it's really delicious and well cooked. We had battered squid to start with and it's the best squid I've eaten, the batter was light and crispy and the squid was tender and just melted in the mouth. The duck was also tasty and well cooked. Park in the Coopers Square Car Park, Burton on Trent, and it is a short walk to Union Street, Burton on Trent where you will find the coffee shop. The...gift shop has fantastic cards and gifts. "The meal was excellent, as good as the one we had in January! The owners are great and came to chat briefly and it was just like talking to old friends. Nothing was too much trouble. Will most certainly continue to go there as the food is terrific. The chef does a great job with locally sourced ingredients scrummy!"

"Not sure why I haven't reviewed on here before as I must go at least a dozen times a year! The service puts most others to shame as they genuinely care that you are enjoying your time there. The food itself is wonderful and always well presented. I tell everyone to give it a try, especially the lunchtime offer which must be the best value for miles!"
