A doctor friend who spent a good few years studying at PIMS suggested this place. Apparently, Spice Box at Hot & Cold Bar & Restaurant was a 'go-to' place for resident docs at Pondy! Well, not just the doctors, of course! <br>

The Hot & Cold Bar and Restaurant setup has 4 options to choose from. A family restaurant, a pub, a cocktail bar and a rooftop garden for parties. We chose Spice Box which is a non-smoking family restaurant as we wanted to dine. <br>

The service wasn't great with delays in order completion. Odd sort of chap who waited our table. Quite a bit of privacy on all tables with enclosures and dim lighting. <br>
There was a 2+1 offer on liquor. <br>

"While anandha the gas house as hotel was great with nice rooms and friendly staff, the restaurant surabhi, where we were offered free breakfast was bad. that was probably the worst breakfast buffet I ever had. eating was bland, refilling was slow and service was simply rude. I would not recommend it just because it is free. it needs a lot of improvement."

"Was super hungry and the only place which local folks guided me to was this joint, boy..was I in for a horrible surprise, not only was the food so bland and super horrible to taste, seems like the management seems pretty cool about the same.When we brought this up to the managers attention they hardly flinched, a simple dosa took ages to arrive, was surprised to see lot of french folks sitting in,i guess they know that this was the best place for their palate , well walked out with more hunger and highly disappointed with this place."

"Started with soup and starter.. Tomato soup could be thicker. Baby Corn Manchurian dry was awesome Abirami spl dosa reminded me of mysore Masala dosa. Nice. Big. Filling. Veggies with spices and side dishes were tasty Aromatic chilly rice was not something very special or spicy as claimed. But quantity was decent Ended the dinner with fruit salad and triple nut fantasy.. Was just about fine. Salad quantity was less my friend felt Ambience nice. Service prompt and fast. Just rice came faster than dosa!!! Vegetarians to note that fried ice cream contain egg!!! Pure veg restaurants should avoid this mix up."

"The place might look posh, but the food is very affordable and tastes amazing! It's pocket-friendly when it comes to meals.<br/ .<br/ .<br/ I had their meal which included many items like butter milk, momos, parotta and chicken curry, paneer, 4 varieties of rice, and what not!<br/ The staff was amazing and I loved the ambience. You can go here with your group or even alone!"

"At first it's a big yes to this place. Really the person who is taking the order is very courteous and there is only a lady doing pastas. You need patience but the food is worth the wait. Menu is just limited they serve only pastas and few beverages. We had chicken Alfredo and iced lemon tea. Pasta was really really good, I would say best one I had in Pondy, Lot better than expensive restaurants around. I would really go to this place again and again. Keep in mind patience is the key for good food here."
