"The Marigold has been one of our favourite restaurants. The food was always magnificent as was the service. However this has clearly all changed. What a horrible experience. Yesterday 23rd May 2021 we decided to have Yum Cha at the Marigold. Big mistake. After queueing for almost an hour we finally got a table to only be completely and utterly ignored. No one was interested in serving us as all the waitstaff was fawning over one table and not interested in anyone else. When I tried to get attention from the waitstaff they simply refused to call management and continued to ignore us. Furthermore the few items of food we managed to secure was rancid. Granted we should have looked at the latest reviews and saved ourselves from this horrible experience. We will NEVER be going back there and I strongly recommend others to give this place a very wide berth."

"I had a marvellous dinner with my son here and particularly relished the sangria. It was perfectly made and not too sweet. The service was highly professional as well and the tapas and paella were both top notch."

"Staff miserable and unwelcoming . Worst food ever with little or no guidance as to what we were ordering until it came ! Out of 5 dishes only two were edible !! Will not be returning ! Staff need to be trained in customer care"

"Chinatown has lots of touristy restaurants all show and no substance but this little authentic place is all about Chinese food. Certainly not fancy,it’s fast and furious but we loved it ..especially the home made noodles and dumplings"

"Love the drink, we order the sauce chicken and the spicy tofu fish soup, special fried rice, spicy oil fish with cold at the top, vegetables with pork bone soup, pineapple juice and soy milk was very good. But last time we will wait for the rice noodle for Soo Long ~, so maybe a good advice if too much is too busy order ..."

"Went there yesterday evening with the significant other who originally is Chinese; she had the place recommended by a friend. As it is, we had passed by there a number of times on our way to other Chinese places (of which there are plenty in the hood) but somehow missed this one. Turns out that was a mistake. We had the fungi as appetizer and a fish in chilli sauce main as well as a beef and noodle main, together with a bottle of Hunter Valley red that we brought. The fungi were the best I have had and the fish main was also excellent. I did not care that much for the beef and noodle one and neither did my partner. But there is many other things on the menue that look delish and worth sampling. Definitely will go back. Prices are very reasonable. Service was a bit spotty but overall this place is very good indeed."

"SInce I was staying at a popular hostel nearby, it was a bit impossible to prepare my own meal at dinner time at a cramped kitchen; hence, most of the time, I ate at Taste of Cho at Market City. I usually have rice boxes with 2 different dishes; it costs $8.50, which is very good price and did not have the hassle to squeeze (or fight) for a place to cook at the hostel."
