"The Homemade Biscuits Gravy were not as tasty as we were hoping or was described. The biscuits were better than the gravy. The potatoes and eggs were ice cold and not good seasoning/ taste at all. The "Grandpa Ron apos;s Famous" Banana Cake was absolutely delicious!!!"

"I truly hope the Golden Nugget reopens. But, here’s some advise which probably worth nothing. We stopped going to this restaurant about 5 years ago when the once wonderful place changed. The ingredients all changed which made the food horrible! One thing is they started using some kind of orange looking liquid (maybe Oleo) instead of butter! When we asked the server for real butter for our table she said they no longer served real butter! WHAT? For us, it changed almost all the menu items taste! You cannot cheat your customers and expect to succeed! Just my opinion!"

"I would especially recommend Block House for breakfast! The cinnamon roll pancake is ridiculous (best thing to share? literally the size of a plate), the eggs Benedict are delicious, cookies and Gravy, Speck, I could go on for some time. Great atmosphere and also clean. Service was always very friendly! I wish they had more employees than a few times when I came in, they only had one or two servers for the entire (packed) restaurant, which can lead to a longer than necessary waiting and forgotten food/drink requests. No matter, it's a great place to stop before you go to the coast or on a hike!"

"Promptly greeted seated on a Friday night. They were expecting a party of 20, so we were glad to order promptly. They still have to work out how to present their bar beverages, as we always have to ask about rotating drafts wine offerings. The food, as usual, was pleasantly plated and very good; were also comped an appetizer as the servers were initially distracted by the large group coming in. Not necessary but welcome nevertheless. 2 drinks 2 entrees tip $49.00."

"They have changed their menu! It’s even better than it was before! The food is always phenomenal and huge portions! They were very busy and short staffed, it was only noticeable because the waitress was moving so quickly. She still was incredibly friendly, kept our drinks full, very patient and helped us choose the best selection for our appetite! Parking: They have a small gravel lot immediately in front of the restaurant, right across the street. There’s a big field with plenty of parking! Kid-friendliness: Their mac cheese is phenomenal, even if you’re not a kid!"
