"Every year when we visit Monterey, THIS is the ALL-VEGAN place we ALWAYS look forward to eating at. As a vegan family, this place is no joke! El Cantaro is the best!!! Clean, beautiful, facilities. Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious vegan food served consistently. The steak fajitas were smoky and flavorful. "I've been eating their crepes since they originally opened on the Wharf. Danielle and Thierry are the best, and so are the rest of their staff. Food is always hot and fresh, unlike other crepe place nearby that seems to make their crepes ahead of time. Definetly a lot more filling than you would think. Great coffee and location as well. Nestled behind the Portola Hotel and next to the Customs House Plaza, it's a great place to people watch and conveniently located close to downtown, the recreation trail, and Fisherman's Wharf."

"An LA original beautifully restored. We watched the sun set on the patio and later took in the view of the city lights. We were hesitant when we seen the new menu, but everything was delicious. Karen was our server and she gave us the best recommendations. She asked all the right questions and knew exactly what we would love. We had a party of six. We share the empanadas to start. I ordered the prime flat iron steak and substituted the duck fat fries with patatas bravas. I would definitely order that again. Thank you Karen!! Ignacio, you made our evening when you stopped by to greet us. Most of our family memories at Luminarias include Ignacio checking in on every guest making us feel at home. What a blessing! I'm so glad that didn't change. Thank you all for a wonderful evening."
