"I have paid £7.50 for medium fish and chips and the fish was very small and chips very oily, the most annoying part was they have literally wrapped my fish and chips in a paper rather then a box and all my food was stuck in wrapping paper i have to peel it off, it's ridiculous, people paying this sort of money and they don't even serve you a take away box!!!!, never ever again"

"My daughter went to buy supper for 6 of us at about 8pm today (Sunday) when she asked for 3 pea fritters she was told they only had one and then the frying staff just glared at her and said it was f**King ridiculous as if it was her fault. She felt humiliated and embarrassed. She then went to Tony's in Barncroft to get what she couldn't get and they were really friendly and helpful, we appreciate its a busy weekend but there's no need to be rude and humiliate people. She won't ever go to Mother Kelly's in Emsworth again."

"Decided to try Coastguard after reading reviews and have to say that overall it is well worth a visit. We had small portions of cod, chips and peas which was delicious lovely crispy batter! A log fire was burning although I don’t think it had been going for long as it was still on the cool side in the restaurant. The only downside was the tea to be honest it was pretty awful and I suggest you avoid it completely."

"Brilliant pub and eaterie down near the harbour. We popped in at lunchtime and it was really busy with people on a Monday but they found us a table quickly. Had a lovely lunch of fish and chips and ham egg and chips, both excellent and good value. Great beer offerings too, all served by very helpful and friendly staff. Very highly recommended."

"Arrival at 7.15 o'clock for our reserved outside table, friendly reception from all employees. I quickly said they were out of sunday to decide before we sit, whether we like to eat. we chose a speckburger that was very well cooked and came with a very tasty senfsauce on the side. What a nice location directly on the sea. the facilities were a pleasant surprise with a clean, fresh, tiled, new looking bath. we look forward to going back."
