"It didn't happen that I wasn't sure I wanted to stay here. When we had to go up to the bar/restaurant to check it, I was tried to go, but actually the place is not so bad. The room was in the building next to the restaurant and was clean and comfortable. We have food in the bar, which was good. The location is in a great location for tours!"

"Nice refuge from the wind and rain, can't believe they stayed open in such bad weather. I was going to rate this place three stars, but they get an extra star for being open : The interior was cozy and cute, with a nautical theme (obviously . The portion sizes were ok for the price. Not the best shrimp basket (shrimps were small and slightly over cooked , but the fish on the fish and chips plate was great, nice thick chunks of perfectly fried fresh cod. I would prefer thicker cut french fries with fish and chips, the fires here were thin. The lady running the place was very nice and served everyone with a smile. Mainly bar stool seating inside with only one table with actual chairs."

"I have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed by The Rusty Monk. I ordered the Bratzel but was left wanting. The sausage felt hard in my mouth... and not in a good way. It was cold and undercooked as opposed to hot and robust as a sausage should be. I pray that that the Rusty Monk offer up some Hail Mary's and repent from their ways. Amen."

"My friend brought me here for my birthday. She had never been there before and loved it. We ordered the skirt steak cooked to perfection topped with an amazing spicy chimichurri and creamy sauce. Our sides consisted of mac and cheese (probably wouldn’t order again even though it wasn’t bad), and corn esquites. Very good but what made our meal was the grilled bone marrow rajas with grilled bread. Phenomenal! All in all, it was an enjoyable evening accompanied by exquisite food. I will return soon with my husband for date night."

"Stopped by for lunch after doing a morning tour in Whittier. Luckily, it wasn't a time when one of the big boats arrived, so there wasn't any wait at all. Was able to walk right up, place my order, and grab an open table on the patio. Service was very prompt and friendly. Ordered a few Alaskan beers, Salmon Filet Burger, and Halibut Fish Chips. Food was brought out to my table within 10-15 minutes and looked amazing. The Salmon was a nice cut of meat that was grilled to perfection. The Halibut had a nice crispy batter that added crunch, but didn't take away from the taste of the Halibut. The patio tables gave a nice view of the surrounding mountains and water. Perfect place to grab a bite and enjoy the sights and sounds of Whittier."

"Had a nice breakfast of eggs, reindeer sausage, and hash browns. Was plenty of seating in the dining area at 8am. Nice view out the windows.Parking: A few spots in front of the restaurant. Not a far walk from the paid parking lot, though."
