"Easily ordered meal and paid for it via their app. Really good if you like to be very covid aware unfortunately I felt it was a very cold and clinical way of doing hospitality but that's just me. I prefer a more interactive exchange when dining out. Food was fantastic no grumbles there but felt once the staff left the food and drinks there was no more interaction and we were left to our devices."

"A friend from Kilmarnock had constantly told me that I needed to try the Wee Train in Galston, but it just happened to be in a area I never really find myself in. After a day out in Lanark, I had planned to eat there, but the kitchen of the place I had planned was closed for the day, so decided to make my way back to Ayrshire, and while getting into the car I recalled that I would be passing by Galston, so perfect chance to head to the Wee Train. Lovely old style village pub that has been done up in a way to give it a cozy setting, but keep its old school charm. Staff are super friendly and will go right out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Not the biggest menu, but more than enough to find something for your taste, and they do a excellent daily specials menu to select from. Had the Haggis Scotch Egg as a starter and the Wee Train Burger as a main, along with a pint. All freshly prepared in no time, and really tasty. Regret putting off coming here for so long, but its worth going out of your way to visit here for a good meal."

"Telephoned an order to collect, when I got back to the house and opened it up the King Rib was burned the chips were more like Crisps and the Grease was dripping of the King Rib, the Sausage’s Had very little Batter on them and again the chips were more like Crisps, absolutely disgusting, I collected my order at 7.30pm and they close at 8 O’clock maybe the staff just uses the left over chips ? I have previously been to the Plaice to be and the food was totally different, and if I may add the staff was more friendly on the previous occasion also"

"This was recommended to me and I can totally see why. The staff were friendly and the service and food was excellent. As it was a nice day we decided to eat outside. I had the fish special which was very tasty my husband had the Mexican burger and our daughter had the steak all were excellent. Have no problems recommending here and can't wait to go back"

"Popped in here for an early dinner with family. The menu is quite basic but totally adequate, as this is a very small village in East Ayrshire. Fish and chips, roast beef and the delicious lentil soup which is a warm favourite with family members. The landlord was extremely welcoming as well as the other staff. I had the garlic mushrooms to start and then Cajun Chicken, both were very good. Then I was persuaded to try the snowball desert with both cream and ice cream, delicious and reminded me of my early years living in Scotland. I would recommend this place, just remember to book though"
