"I’ve visited the original Cholita Linda location in Temescal a few times now over the years and really enjoyed their food. This restaurant is another location of theirs in Alameda which was more convenient on my trip so I stopped by. Food wise everything tasted delicious just as I remember. I’ve tried all the tacos over the years but the Baja Fish is my favorite and now just order multiple of them when I visit. The fish is super fresh and pairs nicely with their housemade crema and salsa. Make sure to top it off with a bit of the orange hot sauce. On this visit, the Alameda location service was a bit slow despite there not being too many customers. I’ll probably stick to the Temescal location, but definitely be back for their tacos! "The food was hit or miss and the service was poor. The food:A few of the dishes were good the steak, lamb and fish tacos and some was mediocre the wedge salad was not a wedge and lacked flavor, and the short ribs and burger were pretty bad. The fries looked like they were frozen from a bag. The service:The waitress seemed new so there were a few minor flubs wrong order, incorrect bill that were totally forgivable. But, the biggest issue we had was that the food came out at widely different times. In fact there was an hour between when the first main was served until the last one was brought out. And there was no apologies for it. There was only one waitress and one cook in the entire restaurant, so we understood why, but for the price we were paying, the service should have have been much better. There were only tables occupied the in the whole two hours wee were there, so it’s not like it was busy"

"What a gem! The delicious slaps you in the face before you open the door with all of the scents that a legit diner breakfast should have. The service is great, the food is fast to arrive, and the menu is bountiful. The roomy booths and counter spots greet you at the front next to the open diner-style kitchen. There's more seating in the back as well. We tried the house-made corned beef hash and the chicken and waffle. Both of our plates were above and beyond in flavor, with plenty of food to boot. The chicken was juicy and crispy, worthy of cleaning the pieces down to the bone. The hash was crisped up nicely. They buttered the toast well, made our crispy hash browns as requested, and did I mention the food came out fast? Coffee is delicious and strong. I'm excited to come back and try more things. We visited early, before 9am and there was no wit but as we were leaving things might have been getting busier, so I imagine there's a wait sometimes. Worth it."

"Fresh, delicious food. Kind service! The lady at the counter thought I was in need and offered me something that belonged to her. I declined, but it is so nice to see people going out of their way to be kind! Please give this business your patronage. They deserve it. Got my takeaway order quickly. The door was open to anyone needing to-go orders, and the server was wearing a mask when she gave the food to me. When I got home I saw my food was packaged nicely and had generous family-sized portions."

"The irony is don't eat here for their burger- I eat here for their teriyaki beef sandwich. It's is saucy and full of flavor. It's what I always get and I can't budge on getting anything else. The woman takes and makes your order so keep that in mind if you're time sensitive."
