"My wife and I went to Sunday dinner yesterday. I chose the bark and my wife had that huh, there were also pork and a lamb special. or you'd have mixed meat. both meats were very well cooked with large portion sizes. The...main courses came with a nice and extra crimson. really nice home made yorkshire pudding. we shared a Bakewell tar for the desert. all the food was fresh and we were very satisfied with our decisions. beautiful staff. really friendly. beautifully kept village pub. very clean and well furnished. we plan to return to the near future for an evening meal."

"Waited for over an hour and half for our food to delivered, when it finally arrived it was luke warm at the best. The beef in the chow mein was like rubber, starters where all cold and the spare ribs where very poor. The food is expensive which we don’t mind paying when it’s worth it but this certainly wasn’t. When I rang to complain I was offered £10 off our next order but unfortunately we won’t be ordering from here again. It’s a shame as we have had nice food from here in the past."

"On the other day for a cuppa we sat outside, as we only gave a quick cuppa nice staff our dog a little sausage in their own little bowl chopped. today had called again an breakfast excellent again beautiful staff gave our dog a tasty bite in their own little bowl. in any case recommend would always go thank you."

"This place deserves to do well. However it is a victim of how squeezed restauranteurs are and how small margins of profit are. First the food. My dish of mussels was the best I have tasted in an age. They can be rubbery if you get it wrong and this chef got it dead right. My fellow diners were happy with theirs too. We had a fifty minute wait for our main course and service was slow. There did not appear to be any heating in the restaurant and we were next to a radiator. It was not conducive to a leisurely Sunday lunch in December, reminding me of a cold September in Italy, where the local authorities actually ban heating in public places, regardless of the temperature. A deal breaker for me is the loos. This one was spotless. I have walked out of places with less than fragrant lavatories. For me, the quantity and the quality of the food was worthy of five stars. If the new proprietors can get past the initial teething stages, perhaps take on more casual staff and turn up the heating, they will be on to a winner. I shall certainly try it again."
