"We arrived after visiting the market . We thought it may have changed hands . The guy who greeted us was very pleasant and spoke English. We opted for the 19 euro two course menu. This came with wine , however they forgot to ask what wine we wanted . It came after we had finished eating ! The starter was average using the cheapest acceptable ingredients . I had salad de vésere . My husband had the meat platter. After that we all opted for the cuisse de canard which was so tough I couldn’t cut it . I mentioned it to the waiter and all he said was’ Oui !’ We chose not to have a dessert or coffee .on leaving he asked again about the toughness of the duck and we said it was too hard . We did not get a refund and therefore we will not be returning . Very average ."

"Menu at 27,50€ rather average 2 slices of foie gras on a little bread, 3 salad leaves, lacks a small fig jam or an onion count. Menu at 15€ colin back: square fish straight out of the freezer. Super clumsy waitress who missed to spill my plate several times. To improve but very nice frame."

"Old hotel with friendly decoration however some necessary renovations to rehabilitate certain aspects. Location along the river with a pleasant terrace. Close to amusement parks. Relaxing area and swimming pool on the very pleasant roof. Very passing street room but good soundproofing. Ménage has seen, however, both for the rooms and for the room. Breakfast leaves on its hunger by the proposed choice given the rate. Friendly and pleasant staff."

"Unplanned we arrived Sunday midday a tad early but were shown to the airy dining room the terrace was tempting but the weather was breaking The meal started with an aperitif and then a delightful selection of little Hors D' oeuvres Followed by a small helping of soup Starter was Foie Gras and mains were both stunning pork and chicken Cheeseboard and the most heavenly Tarte Pomme With two wines selected to compliment the food Coffee and macaroons heavenly Can't wait to visit again"

"I'd like to start by saying that I've written many, many reviews for TripAdvisor over the years and have never before felt the need to write such a negative review. My family have just returned from 10 days in the Dordogne, and as the area is obviously not an ideal holiday destination for vegans or even vegetarians (which we understood beforehand) we spent much of the time cooking for ourselves. On our way to Monpazier (where, incidentally, we ate a delightful, and impromptu, vegan dinner later in the day), we stopped off for lunch in Le Bugue and called in to Pizzeria La'Tina, armed with a "vegan passport" in French explaining what we could and couldn't eat as unfortunately we don't speak French, to ask about the possibility of a vegan pizza. While I acknowledge the right of any restaurant to determine the type of food it will or won't serve, my husband and I were totally unprepared for the aggressive and abusive response of the owner, who rudely told us that "if my grandfather hadn't eaten meat you wouldn't even be here today"! After he'd continued in this vein for quite a bit longer, my husband asked, "So, don't you want to feed us?", and when he replied (rather unnecessarily, by this stage), "No", we left straight away, feeling quite shaken by the unnecessary unpleasantness. I should be clear here that all we did was ask about the possibility of a vegan pizza - we made no comments at all that should have provoked such a verbal assault. So, not only should vegetarians and vegans be aware that this is not an approachable or vegan-friendly restaurant, but our experience also calls into question the restaurant's reputation for "customer service" that has been mentioned by many other reviewers (and that the owner seems to take such pride in), This is undoubtedly the worst restaurant (non)experience my family has ever had!"

"Went for brunch as we were meeting friends there. Had a coffee with an open-face sandwich of goat cheese and cured ham. Owner attentive to clients' dietary limitations. A very popular place where people come to meet friends so the decibel level may be a bit high. Must try the place for another occasion."

"Fantastic place that is welcoming to us with our little one. We were running late getting to the area and got called into La Bugue around 9pm. We we meet welcomed in and it was obviously a popular place. Service was very helpful as we don’t speak a lot of French. My wife loved the veggie options and I had the Ceviche of duck which was simply brilliant. Although we were fairly full we wanted to try the deserts due to the starter and mains being so good and we weren’t disappointed. If we were staying longer we would have returned so this place is highly recommended"
