"I really enjoyed the food here. I’m going to be dreaming of the linguine ai fruitti de mare for a really long time. The creme brûlée was delicious as well. The sauce for the linguine was so rich."

"Most don't consider a hotel dining room for a night out but The Arms in the Lord Nelson Hotel should be on your list. After several visits we have come to look forward to their smooth, flavourful seafood chowder with lots of shrimp, scallops, salmon...and more. The long-braised short ribs define fall-off-the bone Oh so tender with rich gravy to douse the whipped mashed potatoes, so good they must have been from PEI. So much we take home a box and get a second supper a day or two later. Also needed to have an early breakfast with last swallow completed by AM to meet the requirements of a certain health scan at the nearby Victoria General Hospital and so put in our breakfast order the night before and were seated just as the doors opened at and were eating in just minutes and done in the allotted time. Steady but not overwhelming number or guests. Virus compliant. Next time we will try other items unless we succumb again to the siren-call of the chowder and short ribs. Definitely add The Arms to your dining list while in Haifax."

"This restaurant was recommended and I could not tell you why. Food was ordinary could have had better eating at home. Ordered an omelette, and it had chunks of veggies, no cheese, and was runny. Also had a Halifax Fog latte the cup...was only half full, topped up with a huge amount of foam, making it appear full, and it was awful. So many good restaurants in Halifax this is not one of them."

"We had breakfast included with our room so we ate here every day. Unlike the Marriott at Niagara Falls, there was no wait here at all. The hostesses were friendly and efficient. The buffet was one the better hotel ones. It had the omelette and waffles station, many chafing dishes with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausages and two that changed each day, I know there were blintzes one day. There was a big selection of cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and very nice fresh fruit. There was toaster with bagels, English muffins, etc and some baked goods like muffins and danishes. They had nice cheese platters with some cold meats as well. But the icing on the cake - smoked salmon with all the fixings! Excellent!!! I highly recommend the breakfast buffet. We didn't have dinner here but we did stop in for dessert and tea one night. We had the Chocolate Frenzy (or something like that ) and Toffee cake. Both were OUTRAGEOUS. (See pics)"
