"Great food! Great service. Fast and efficient service at the bar. We ordered the Del Mar lunch plate and the San Juan dinner plate. Brochette shrimp and steak were cooked perfectly on the Del Mar. Ribs and brochette shrimp on the San Juan were also very good. The only reason for 4 stars is that the restaurant is very expensive. Just something to keep in mind."

"I never write reviews but the Taco Chela salad was absolutely yummy and unique as were the vegetable tacos with roasted sweet potatoes. The salsas and sauces were so fresh and delicious. Homemade corn tortillas made the visit exceptional."

"Unique, tasty, well done enjoyable! We’ve been visiting Lauriol Plaza since it was the tightest, smallest and crampiest little old house to dine in DC yet with exceptional cuisine! They’ve not given up their incredible goodness for style, space and looks! For many years we’ve enjoyed dining here, they never fail in the service, quality, variety, ambience and uniqueness of it all. Whether dining open air or inside, the food is great and consistant over the years. A must place to dine alone or with friends, any time of the year, day or night. Highly recommended for the novice Latin food lover, or the gourmand. Go for it, you will not regret it!"

"Sad Sad Sad Slow service- literally took 1 2 an hour to take our order and another hour to get the food The $29.50 molcajete dinner I ordered was supposed to come with steak, chicken, shrimp, rice, beans, tortillas It came out COLD took another 10 minutes to get the rice beans and tortillas My daughters enchilada plate took 15 minutes longer than our food so she from my plate before her dinner came. Besides being cold the food was bland. And the meat was charred covered in oil. I was super excited to try this place and must say I will never be back : My daughters Shirley temples Drinks must have been made with soda water instead of 7up, because there was no sweetness... I sent it back and it still came back non-sweetened. Lunch took 2 hours 25 minutes : The place was NOT BUSY literally only 2 other tables being used- 1 large group of 7-8 people and 1 table of 1. Sorry Anchorage we are forever cursed with Taco king as our best Mexican spot. At least the service is fast :"
