"We arrived before food was being served but we were warmly welcomed and allowed to sit in seats reserved for later diners. The food was delicious, a good choice on the menu and service very good. I had king prawns and my partner had the...steak. We didn't feel rushed and that really makes a change in London. It's a bit out of our way home from London to Chorleywood but it was well worth the stop off. So glad we decided to eat here instead of in central London. We'll definitely be back!"

"I'm from Manchester and I don't come to London often so I didn't have a clue what I was doing when I was down there this weekend. Long story short I ended up at Nelson. I started with grilled parma ham, then went on to...a duck breast main and finished with a tiramisu. I find it hard to put into words how much I enjoyed my meal. I don't have a bad word to say about it. The only restaurant which comes close to making a duck breast so perfect would be Evuna in Manchester so I can safely say the Nelson is putting out top tier food on the regular. Thank you for such a treat Antonio (head chef) company. I also mustn't forget to mention the bar staff at Nelson who were very helpful in both assisting me in choosing something off their menu and bring me a pint of Peroni every now and again, so thank you Michelle and Kristina. If I'm ever down in London again I'll definitely be making a stop at Nelson and I urge any visitors to London to do the same. Undoubtedly an excellent Italian dining experience. Splendid."

"As it was a rainy day the place was very quiet compared to normal. However, the service from the bar staff was just appalling. I ordered a spritz from the summer cocktail menu but the barman didn't seem to know what it was despite showing him a number of times. I don't know what he made me but it wasn't what I asked for and I'm pretty sure it had no alcohol in it. The second time I went to the bar there was nobody there. I tried to catch the eye of one of the waitresses serving food, but she did all she could to ignore me. A few other people arrived at the bar and we all stood about not knowing what to do. Eventually the barman emerged from wherever he had been hiding and had a long chat with the waitress, before ambling behind the bar again to take orders. No smiles, no apologies, no eye contact, nothing. If you want to have locals make up your trade out of season or when the sun's not out, you need to do better than this."

"For years it's been the go-to place for residents of Highgate. It's pleasant they do great breakfasts. The little outside area is pleasant. We went there on Sunday evening and I was shocked at not only how the quality of the food but the rip off in price increases. I had just one glass of mediocre wine £11. I could have bought a decent bottle of Malbec at my local supermarket for £8. The Seafood Casserole at £18 was average, a small portion and the prawns were just a shell and clearly for show. I mean why serve empty shells on a plate? Service was erratic due to it being so very busy. Having paid just under £30 for a small portion of food and a glass of wine frankly I felt short changed and will not be back anytime soon. Laz you have become very very greedy."

"We stumbled on this on our way back to our hotel from Oxford street and so glad we found it. The pie was gorgeous with chips and oven baked beans, I was in heaven. Will definitely try it again. The staff are great and the atmosphere is good and the prices were good as well."

"So expensive! £17.95 for a tiny bowl of ragu and penne which was more like a starter ... really?! There were about 3 pieces of meat in what was basically a tomato sauce. We were also charged for tap water ... naughty! The waitress was only interested in upselling so before we sat down we were bombarded with questions offering everything from olives, drinks, starters, bread, side dishes ... it was endless! Camden has better places. Unimpressed."
