"My friend and I went to check this place today and we were very pleasantly surprised. The decor was wonderful, so warm and welcoming and we could choose where we wanted to sit and chose a table for two near the fireplace. The service was about every place we were before and we were in some tearooms in the Detroit area. The food was delicious and served at the right temperatures. A chilled fork was offered for the salad course and the dressing was perfect. The potato soup was hot and served in a covered plate. The only problem with the Scones is that two were not enough, but there were three more courses to go and we were full at the end of our meal. The sandwiches were very delicious and the desserts were very complementary to each other; Lemon pudding and a piece of rumcake. I was a bit empty, but the reviews were excellent, so we made the decision to go. I can't say enough about the service. The gentlemen were mind readers, returned to wipe away dishes and serve the next course. I highly recommend trying The Purple Door Tea Room for your next tea experience."

"Yay! They are open again! I’m so happy, and it looks like the renovations added room inside, so that’s awesome. I really appreciate the staff here; they’re so good at what they do. I appreciate the Covid measures they’ve taken, down to the little rainbow X’s to mark six feet in the line My faves: cortado, dirty chai, hand pies, galette, popovers, and superfood cookie!"

"I was really looking forward to trying this place. It's in a cute area surrounded by local shops and lots to do. Honestly, I was disappointed though. I ordered takeout since indoor dining was closed due to Covid restrictions. The staff member who brought it out seemed bothered, and they forgot the cutlery. There was no way to get cutlery since the door was locked, and I didn't think the unfriendly staff member would be pleased if I knocked. I ended up breaking my coffee stirrer in half and using it like chopsticks to eat my vegan mac cheese. There wasn't enough creamer included for my coffee either. It could have been an off day but it wasn't a great experience. Updated from previous review on 2023-02-12"

"High end, delicious baked goods that happen to be plant based. I particularly recommend the brownies and apple pie cruffins. I operate an Airbnb and feature SugarBuzz treats for guests. I don't even mention they are vegan, and guests love the treats. (I noticed a negative review that was obviously based on the poster's political views and not the quality of the baked goods it's scrumptious stuff."

"I have been to Anita's Kitchen twice now (once for dine in and a second for take out) and it was a great experience both times. It is a nice little restaurant in Ferndale Michigan. "Went there for lunch on a Monday. Fantastic food and fantastic service. I loved the decor of the restaurant. I would certainly recommend and will return. Also, they have plugs in the booths. Perfect for phone charging."
