"The ambiance and service were very nice. I enjoyed my dessert and drink. I did not care for the Apricot lamb. The lamb was dry, and I wouldn't say I liked the texture of the Kusko, but my husband and I still had a great time because the restaurant was excellent and the staff was pleasant. There was not a lot of noise. I will not return, but I had a lovely time. Oh, the goat cheese cigars were delish!"

"We had a large party of 12 with reservations. The person that made the reservation had to sign a contract and put a $500 deposit down. We 've never heard of such a thing. The party loved the appetizers: queso and bacon-wrapped shrimp. I don 't think anyone loved their entrees but said they were just OK. I had the New Mexico Platter. It was good except for the rice which was way over seasoned and hard because of being overcooked. The service was very good but a little slow with a couple of meals. One person had to get hers to go because she had to catch a flight. That shouldn 't have happened considering we 'd already been there an hour. The last person 's meal came out almost 10 minutes after the others had already started eating. I also thought it was expensive. It was $700 for our party of 12 and that included 3 alcoholic beverages and 4 or 5 appetizers but one person ate an appetizer as their meal and another person got an ala cart item as their meal. Unfortunately, I don 't recommend this place."

"Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. Our server was excellent and checked on how we liked our drinks and food. I definitely give her 5 stars. One criticism would be that the spicy dishes be presented as such. Way too many hot peppers in the calamari--we couldn't even eat the calamari at the bottom of the dish as they were infused with the peppers. Also, the flat iron steak had a peperonata on top of it--and that was so spicy I was unable to eat it. Our server did replace it with a new steak, but maybe the listing should be a spicy peperonate. At least next time we know what to ask--and there definitely will be a next time."

"Wow! Wow! Wow! I’ve been to NYC,Boston MA,EI,MD,LasVegas reside in Houston TX. I’m a foodie. I’m so surprised and impressed by Novel Restaurant! Didn’t expect to find a FOOD Heaven in Kansas City, MO. Everything is super good! Done here twice [2 dinners] Super great food from soup, salad, main entrées and try all their desserts it’s super crazy good! Thank you Chefs Crew you’re the best! Great service too"
