"Place is trash. Went to dinner with my family for my birthday, we ordered 5 beers and they were brought to the table with no problem. I drank one , then decided to let the waitress know I wanted a drink. It took well over 15 minutes and I did notreceive it so we went to the bar and asked them to make one. the bartender comes over to ask for an Id and refused to give me mydrink after I had already drank a corona. My entire party was not carded and they were able to drink anything they wantedbesides me. We had a 20 year old that wasn?t carded as well. I was not allowed to drink a single thing. It made my experiencevery uncomfortable, and I will never be going back. The service was also not very good. They brought the utensils out after Ihad my food for 5 mins. No wonder the place is always empty. Only thing keeping it open is the banquet hall."

"After we noticed a new name over the door of another Mexican restaurant, we decided to give the new owners an attempt. And that was worth it. The decor is about the same without seeing the El Agave, you might think there was no change. The menus are different, with many other options. At three of us we ordered all different items. No alcohol at this time, but they have a full bar. They're putting chips and salsa on the table. The salsa was fresh, but the bowl was a little small. We went through before we finished the chips. We ordered guacamole, which was really excellent. For our meals I had the three taco dinner with two steak and an al pastor. We also had a Tostada dinner and a Burrito dinner. Meals come with beans and rice. Make sure to ask for their hot sauces. Her salsa roja was great, but her tomatillo salsa was exaggerated. Everything was very good. And the service was also quite good and fast. You have a beautiful selection of deserts, including flan and Fried Ice Cream. Unfortunately no room after dinner so much. This is a great place. Kudos to the new owners to make a good restaurant even better."

"I gave another sammys location an attempt and result is unfortunately the same. a place where they get home speciality margaritas that are watered down. and the Elgin site where they think is a steak burrito to find out what they call there quality of meat? also not my words. So, what is it then? to find out to get real steak what they expected at the first place rock steak or similar, they have to pay 3 dollars more. the burrito was terrible, salty, with acidic saw and loaded greasy. we didn't even expect anything, but just to say that this was not so great, never say or offer anything. the young employees did not even ask if they wanted to talk to a manager. sammy is not what it is to be all that we were definitely better and had better service. so much"

"Slow. 4 tacos took forever to get, I stood at the front for over 7 minutes before anyone even came to check if I would like to order. This isn’t the first time, one time I literally waited over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me standing there at the register to order and when they finally did I told them, I no longer wish to order but I wanted someone to know that they left a customer standing there for 15 minutes when they were NOT busy. The staff laughed and just walked away from me. Poor food quality poor staff and corporate failed to contact me back or respond. Don’t waste your money. The inside is gross as well, I would question the food quality."
