"I and my daughter visited salt water inn on our short break to porthcawl. service and eating were both excellent. it was very welcome. we had both appetizers and net parts that were delicious and very good portions. I'll see each other again next time."

"The Old Castle is one of Bridgend's most popular pubs and is now open under new management. The new team are doing a brilliant job; restoring this pub into its' former glory. Visited yesterday for a late lunch with friends. Excellent food, all fresh and home-cooked. Surf and Turf (Steak and Scampi) served with real chips, peas, side salad and freshly made coleslaw that was to die for! My friends had Cod and chips which was the freshest, whitest, perfectly cooked fish in the crispiest batter. I will be ordering this on my next visit! My surf and turf was £12.99 and the Cod was £6.99 A good choice of real ales are available. I paid £3.40 for an excellent pint of Abbot Ale. I would recommend a visit to the Old Castle. The new team are setting very high standards and obviously It will become a very popular venue in Bridgend."
