"I’ve been using this pub for over 20 years on and off. Many changes of hands, some good, some not so. It has always been a “beer” pub and at one point was the best in Lichfield. Well the beer is still very good and well kept. Staff are friendly and know what they are doing. However, one is greeted by the smell of fried food upon entering the place and it just hangs there. Better ventilation is needed in the kitchen as it really is off putting. All my clothes went straight in the wash when I got home. I will go back in a few weeks and see how it is."

"We found this pub surprising busy for a Monday lunchtime, mainly frequented by diners of an older generation. There was a good range of about four ales on the bar. The menu features mainly pub standards but there is also a specials board and it was from this that we selected the Pork Belly a 'go to ' favourite of ours, and it was quite reasonably priced at £12.95. It was served with mashed potatoes and peas now surely the chef could come up with more interesting accompaniments than this. As for the meat, the centrepiece of any good pork belly is a crispy skin and the skin on this was certainly not crispy; indeed not eatable. The pork was okay but not the tenderest ever. Personally I would prefer to have paid a bit more for something more appealing. Service was quite efficient but a smile or two from the staff wouldn 't go amiss. Overall opinion of this pub? Well, being so busy on a Monday lunchtime must say something, but personally I found the place very average."

"Looking from the outside, this pub/restaurant looks inviting enough, and the large car park at the back certainly removed any concerns around access. The pub itself is friendly enough, although the décor could undoubtedly do with a lick of paint and a spruce up. That's not to say it was dirty and unwelcoming, just dated. The beer was perfectly well kept and an enjoyable pint was served promptly and without fuss. Must admit when walking through to the restaurant (we hadn't booked) the sight of paper tablecloths made me wary of what we were letting ourselves in for. However, both the service, and more importantly the food was first rate. Absolutely beautiful to taste, prompt and perfect portion sizes. We'll absolutely be back."

"This is an old fashioned pub with excellent quality home cooked food. No frills but excellent quality and a good selection of real ale/beer too. Tim's Guinness is as good as any you will find here or in Ireland. A wonderful find. All the home made food choices are excellent. Local sourced food/meat from an excellent butcher. Well done to all concerned. We WILL RETURN again and again."

"Tried Cloud Catcher yesterday and bought 100g plus a lovely glass mug with removable infuser...absolutely gorgeous tasting tea and I can't stop drinking it. Will be back to buy a bigger batch and perhaps try another flavour. Feels like I'm cleansing myself whilst drinking it, so refreshing. Thank you Rae."
