"A friend and I went to this Smitty 's for a bite to eat after a day of shopping. We were shown to 2 or 3 tables but another server kept saying oh that table hasn 't been cleaned yet . We finally were shown to a table...that had been cleaned closest to the kitchen, probably so the server wouldn 't have to walk so far. There were several servers at the restaurant, but the only one my friend and I had a problem with was ours. She kept talking, very loudly and about topics that we weren 't interested in. Like the medical problems of one of her co workers (Sarah) (she actually named her co worker). About how another Smitty 's in Southern Manitoba had closed because one of the staff was asymptomatic with Covid 19 and how the bacon in this restaurant was too salty for her taste. We didn 't ask her what she preferred. At one point, this woman (Carrie) actually eavesdropped on a comment my friend made and put her 2 cents worth in. Perhaps if she talked and eavesdropped less and cleaned more tables, we wouldn 't have to be shown to 2 or 3 tables before we were seated. The food was very good but Carrie needs some serious training and/or verbal reprimands."

"As a frequent diner/supporter of local restaurants in winnipeg: reasonable price $200/3 people.) the wine menu is not fun. server julie was extremely rude and pretended to eat us and leave us in 60 minutes. every time she moved to our table, she stood with a dirty look at her face as if we had wasted her time. I wanted to remind her that we didn't choose her job for her. she should consider a new career when she is so annoying. Eating was okay. pasta dish was a little over boiled noodles sticky) in a flut of sauce. first visit. extremely underwhelming experience."

"This review is for the Main Street location.I had not been to Johnny G’s in a couple years, but stopped in yesterday after missing my bus. Had the smokehouse(? I think. The one with bacon. Slightly burnt. Service was awful. Literally acted like it...was a bother I walked in the door. No check back, had to go get my bill while 3 girls chatted it up. Probably only got my food because the dude watching the front door brought it out."

"As far as pub food goes, The Yellow Dog is the best I've found so far! if there is better, please direct me there! Drinks are good, service is friendly, great location in the Exchange/Downtown, and the food comes out very quickly as well if you're in a rush. Try the Perogies or the Mac'n'Cheese if you decide to check it out. I actually prefer their pub food over the food at The Kings Head."
