"Wish I had seen the poor reviews before visited...it was a spontaneous decision.I had as advertised on blackboard outside grotty nosh .. remembered this as soup so ordered that.Had gluten free bread instead of dumplings. Long wait.Sad to see it microwaved in a tiny soup...bowl...but when it eventually arrived it was tasty.But Bread served cold and untoasted with wrapped butter portion so not ideal.but it was tasty enough.v small soup bowl. The bill though ...took my breath away. is a colossal Mark- up for a sm soup with processed bread.Visionless to be this extortionate.Will never ever go again."

"What a little jewel. we visited here while we were gone and had a walk through the city. we ordered a ham and cheese toastie, sausage and speck sandwich and some chips were all amazing, really good quality products. the staff is very friendly and polite. I would recommend this caffe."

"I'm afraid that this branch tried ripping me off today. Advice to other customers check how much you are being charged. Whilst waiting for my coffees I noticed that they charge more for purchasing items for take away compared to eating in. When I questioned...this the reply was to do with the council! Is this correct as I have never heard of being charged more for a take away compared to eating in? This is one place I will never revisit."

"Having been impressed by the standards of Coffee 1 businesses in other towns we had no qualms about popping into this one. The two young men serving were slow, one kept disappearing . No apology was made to the forming queue, no attempt made to help one elderly gentlemen on a cane to take his tray to a table. The orders given were not listened to and customer relations did not enter the equation. When the server put my tea cup with his fingers inside the cup and not on the handle before placing it on the tray I asked for another, he obliged but put the handled cup back in the rack. Neither server looked clean and the lavatory was disgusting. We tried two other establishments during our day in Honiton on business, cleanliness was improved but there was a total malaise and disinterest in customer satisfaction. We entered one at 15h45 to be told we would have to be quick they were closing at 16hOO. We know that times are really tough in the hospitality industry, most of us want to support you and keep you afloat but at least come half way to meet us and make us feel a tiny bit welcome and not an inconvenience."
