"We ate lunch here and had a decent lunch, but certainly nothing special. Soups were good, other food was decent. Service was slow. There were flies in the restaurant that were irritating, and when we asked to move away from the front of the restaurant to get away from the flies, they were accommodating but made their displeasure known."

"Um es Vorneweg zu sagen: Grindelwald ist wunderschön und man kann sehr viel unternehmen - auch mit Familie. Nach genau solch einem Tag mit tollen Aktivitäten (Kinderwanderung Liselotte Weg ) freuten wir uns auf ein gemütliches Abendessen im CuM. Leider war die Enttäuschung gross, denn das Essen war mittelmässig und der Preis viel zu hoch. Das ist reine Geldmacherei!Positiv hervorzuheben war die Bedienung, die sich wirklich um und bemühte.Wer lediglich einen Apero auf der tollen Terrasse einnehmen will, ist hier richtig - aber für ein Abendessen stimmt das Preis Leistung Verhältnis nicht!"

"My husband and I, did the Schynige Platte trail hike at the end of June this year. We had planed to break the hike into two days, and therefore spent one night at the Berghaus Manndlenen. We knew it is in the middle of nowhere and had no expectations whatsoever. But we spent one of the most educative nights during our whole stay in Switzerland. The place is small and charming. Since we hiked at the beginning of the season, we were the only guests who slept there that night. The food was good: for lunch we had vegetable soup and bread with a Wurst. We spend a good afternoon talking to the owners. They gave us the whole history of how they capture the water from the melting snow, and then use it over the season. How it is becoming harder and harder to get through the season, due to environmental changes, and how all the supplies, including sometimes water have to be flown in by helicopter. It made me appreciate everything so much more e.g. the rationing of bathroom water, and how hard it is making meals in that environment. At dusk the owner showed us various wild life with his binoculars, and some very old fossils which were found around the hut a few years ago during renovations. For the evening meal, we had Raclette and a special dessert, whipped up by the host. We felt more like invited guest than passer byes. The owner and his wife were absolutely wonderful. They also introduced us to Murmeli salve, which I have used numerous times for some aches and strains....and it works!! Thank you again, for enriching our experience."

"What a nice cozy & elegant little place to have a warm drink (I had both chai latte & coffee/hot chocolate) and yummy carrot cake. We loved that computers weren't allowed as it meant people were actually chatting with each other :)"
