"This restaurant is located inside the new mall complex, Central at Garden City, adjacent to the Walmart, at the corner of Garden City and Alderbridge. We arrived around 12:30 and the restaurant was not busy maybe 12 customers and by the time we left it was about ¼ full.We ordered the following:• Sashimi Combo ($14.95) – miso soup, green salad, 5 piece tempura including 2 prawn tempura, udon noodle soup, 8 piece sashimi and 2 slices orange. The sashimi consisted of 2 pieces each of salmon, tuna, red snapper and surf clam.• Chicken teriyaki combo ($10.75) - miso soup, green salad, 5 piece tempura including 2 prawn tempura, rice, teriyaki chicken (7 pieces about the size of a small chicken breast) and 2 slices of orange. The miso soup was okay, nothing really to differentiate it from other miso soups whereas the udon noodle soup broth was very tasty. My spouse found it a little salty. The salad was composed of sliced cucumber, lettuce, shredded cabbage and tomato. The crisp, fresh salad was topped with a tangy Asian style dressing. The tempura batter was light and crispy. The sashimi was also fresh. The salmon was farmed salmon and not sockeye. The teriyaki chicken was perfectly cooked – moist, juicy and tender. The total bill was $26.99 before the tip.Rating Breakdown:• Food quality & taste – above average; 3.5 out of 5• Service – above average, food came quickly; 3.25 out of 5• Portion size / value – above average – 3.25 out of 5The overall dining experience rates 3.5 out of 5; above average trending towards a “4 star” rating – good.Notes & Tips:• The combo dishes at most of the other restaurants are served in compartmentalized bento boxes. At this restaurant, the food is served on individual plates.• Credit cards accepted• Seating for 80 customers• Clean washroom with separate handicap washroom• We came to the shopping complex for lunch and decided between Ajishou and Bánh Mi Très Bon, a Vietnamese restaurant. We didn’t go to the Vietnamese restaurant because we didn’t like the menu choices at the time; mostly sandwiches with appetizers, salads and Vietnamese coffee. I recall seeing only 1 pho entrée on the menu hanging on the wall. We will probably try the Vietnamese restaurant later on when we are in the mood for a bánh mi.• We also come to this mall for lunch last week at the Z & Y Shanghai Seafood Cuisine. See my review.• Restaurant is in an outdoor mall adjacent to the Walmart.• There is plenty of parking –opposite the Walmart in the parkade a short 200 meter walk away, undercover in the Walmart complex and more outdoor parking on the other side of the Walmart. • Other restaurant outlets that are now open include Fat Burger, Fresh Slice Pizza, Burger King, Subway and Nando’s. In addition, the Richmond Thai Son Vietnamese restaurant is relocating to this mall on January 31.• Check the mall's website for additional information."

"First time and bad experience. Her cattle short ribs were completely infertile and were thrown out. The spring rolls were u derwhelming and at $5 per small roll it was worth it. The shrimp salad roll was the only item worth the price and...ok."

"Apparently dim sum originated from serving leftovers....thus no dim sum for dinner. Any which way, this restaurant had pictures on their menu but unfortunately the numbers didn't all co-relate properly, as we got a few mystery dishes. There was an extensive selection of dishes, but we found them to be nothing outstanding or memorable. Hint: if you want something like hot sauce or soy, ask one of the men, the waitresses were all too busy."

"Placed a larger order for a variety of wraps and pitas with very little notice and Chicago Wrap and Subs was able to make everything right away! The food was fresh and portions were great. Highly recommend this place :"

"There are lots of different dim sum restaurants across town but we like to try different places – which explains how we wound up at Royal Seafood Restaurant in Richmond. It’s located on the 2nd floor of the Garden City Shopping Centre mini mall located at the corner of Blundell and Garden City Road. When we arrived on an early Sunday morning, there were plenty of tables available but they did fill later on (still not a huge line-up tho’ . Most items that we tried on this visit were $7.45 (except for the dessert dish that turned out to be $4.35 . The first dish to arrive was the Spicy Beef Tripe. The honeycomb tripe was fairly tender but we didn’t notice the spiciness until afterwards when the chili sauce hits the back of your throat. Next was the steamed Shrimp and Pea Tips dumplings which is a nice departure from the regular har gow. I found that the Beef Rice Rolls were a bit basic but satisfying. For dessert, we ordered the Mango Pudding – which was a fairly firm incarnation. The presentation could use a bit of an upgrade from the 4 blocks of pudding that we received (a very utilitarian display . The last dish to arrive at our table was the Baked BBQ Pork Buns with a pineapple crust topping. These came out freshly baked and had a soft and warm bbq pork filling. The cute turtle shape didn’t detract me from eating it. Overall, most of the dim sum dishes here were pretty good so we decided to return for a visit in late September to try more of their dim sum dishes. The Deep Fried Shrimp Spring Rolls (L came out hot and had a nice crispy bite to them. As if we didn’t need more fried foods, we ordered the Deep-Fried Silver Thread Buns. I felt like these came out a bit dense and not as light and airy as it should be on the inside. Next were the Chicken Feet in Spicy Sauce (M . Followed by the Coconut Osmanthus Pudding (S . I really like how this came out (a bit more decorative appeal compared to their mango pudding . Actually, I really liked this – especially mixing the flavours together in one bite. But we weren’t done yet… We also ordered the Special Rice Roll with Fish Paste and Bean Curd. It’s funny because I’ve only just started noticing this rice roll dish being served at more dim sum places recently. While the fish paste filling in the middle was quite nice, I thought the bean curd wrap that encased it wasn’t crispy enough. Lastly, we finished things off with an order of Steamed Beef Balls. These were a bit basic and lacking in flavour."

"Came here looking for a place with baked pork chop on rice for the hubby. It was a bit of a wait and it took a while to request a table in the chaos of the waiting area but we were seated sooner than their 20 minute estimate. The first person we spoke to wasn't the friendliest but our waitress was. Drinks came out immediately and the food came out as it was made.<br/ <br/ The food was very hot (baked pork chop, beef brisket baked seafood/chicken) and the kids loved every dish they tried. I enjoyed it can't say it was the best I've ever had but it did hit the spot. The iced coffee was my favourite nice espresso flavour! I might not crave the dishes but would return for quick hot food with the kids if my other favourite spots had too long a wait!"
