"My wife and I arrived at the Royal An Lochan for our night stay on of February, we were taken to our room and I had ordered a bouquet of white lilies and a bottle of Prosecco to be in the room for...us arriving .We went for our evening meal which was a special with it being Valentine’s Day and included a free bottle of pink Prosecco. The choice of food was excellent and it was all cooked to perfection. We met some friends for a couple of drinks in the conservatory after our meal and we had a great time catching up. My wife had a luxury Gel Pedicure booked with the lovely Layla Adams at on the Saturday afternoon, all Layla`s treatments use only locally sourced natural products. The massage, beauty room and waiting room in the An Lochan were really relaxing and well decorated. Layla was professional and very experienced in her treatments. It is great to see the hotel add these treatments to their guest experiences. People from postponed ferries turned up looking for food and lodgings. To their credit the hotel owners Gill and Greg pulled out all the stops to accommodate these people. Tamara the waitress worked her socks off as did Struan the chef. We could not have wished to spend a Valentine’s Day with a better bunch of fabulous people in a lovely hotel. We cannot wait to go back again."

"Lovely cafe, all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming to us and our little dog. Food was great and really good value, with everything freshly prepared and the cakes were amazing! So nice to have lunch sitting out on the decking admiring the fabulous views would definitely recommend a visit."

"This was a lovely dinner, very little to fault. The service was pleasant, quick and not obtrusive. We both had the venison burgers which were very tasty. The combination of venison with goat’s cheese blended really well and the chips were very crisp and tasty. My wife had an affogato, a very simple dessert which was nicely presented and just the right proportions of espresso and ice cream. A glass of house red wine rounded it off nicely. We will eat here again"

"Restaurant and front of house spotlessly clean. The place for fish n chips in Rothesay. We sat in and enjoyed really friendly and fast service. The fish portion very generous and fresh, perfectly crunchy batter. Chips crisp 'n dry, with minted mushy peas. Highly recommend fried steak pie. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. A wait of 5 minutes to have roasting hot fish and chips is 5 minutes well spent!"

"Went to Anselmos the other week and bought two single fish and two suppers for my wife and I and two cans of coke. Decent fish! Bit greasy according to my wife but I really enjoyed mine, kids liked their singles as well. We normally just go to Queens Street on fish night but we wanted tae try something different, this place was just across from the kids primary school and it was great! Chips where nice and thick and fish had lots of flavour! We will be back"
