"Great selection of vegetarian, vegan and GF foods (as well as stuff for carnivores, but I don't buy those! . Premium products which are also premium prices, but nothing is less than excellent quality. The selection of cheeses is also fantastic, with my favourite being the Westray Wife. So creamy and delicious. Fresh hot drinks also available and made by the friendly staff. A lovely deli to visit."

"Really not a very good Indian. The chutneys and popadoms were not fresh and had a weird gross skin on them. The lamb was really tough. The dal was just water, there were no lentils. Generally had no flavour in any dishes. Really disappointed."

"Our party had two rooms this April. One was 140 L, the other 150 L. They were so tiny one had to crawl over the bed to get in or out. There was no place to open a suitcase, no glass, no shelves in the bath, no reading light, no bed-side table. These rooms would have been minimal in a hostel at 25 L. Eat at the Murray Arms but don't even think of staying the night. Bruce MacPhail"

"Was really pleased to catch this place open (currently only opening Friday and Saturday). Black pudding and scallop starter had my name on it and didn't disappoint. Had a special of chicken stroganoff, which was good. Ale was Scapa Special also tasty. The food comes...from the same kitchen as the neighbouring hotel."

"Top location. Right in the middle of the action. Great sized room and service from staff who are managing it the kirkwall hotel next door. The room was fine but we had a very noisy neighbour above us. Banging and walking about, water flushing we heard it all. My other suggestion would be to tidy up street frontage The Shore appears shut down and forgotten about on the outside. Out our window in the courtyard was a blue tarp thrown over some items ??? . Presentation matters."
