"The staff were very attentive, friendly not pretentious at all, they made you feel very welcome. It was the little things, for example, when we checked in, the receptionist asked if our stay was for a special occasion (it was, my wife's birthday) without our knowledge, she had made a note of this for our dinner reservation my wife was presented with a surprise sweet treat after dinner in honour of her birthday. Both dinner breakfast were of a high quality, with a good variety of options the wine list had a good selection too. We would highly recommend this hotel look forward to returning."

"I was treated to breakfast yesterday (19th) by a very dear friend. I had soya milk hot chocolate (no cream) and.........a sweet waffle with Christmas cake flavoured ice cream, chocolate shavings, chocolate sauce and a flake!!! Ohhhhh ! we felt so decadent but Hey Ho it is Christmas !!The staff were very friendly and did not mind that when we were finished that we waited in the shop until our bus was due. I found the prices excellent and great value for money. and the variety made it very hard to choose ."

"I went today to pop-in cafe for breakfast and I had baquete with ham,bacon, cheese and mayo and also for dessert apple pie with vanilla ice-cream. Both were really tasty and fresh! Highly recommend! Apostolos"

"I have mixed feelings about my experience here. I think this could be outstanding. Great venue, great vibe. Helpful staff choosing a wine, good selection of beer. Walked in via the back as we parked in the car park. Bar staff welcoming and friendly. Ordered a drink and decided to sit outside. The front was clean and tidy but on a main road so busy and noisy. (Not unpleasant at all) decided to head to the secret garden at the back. It was lovely but a bit windy, I imagine it would be stunning on a still day. We hadn’t booked a table but when getting our drinks we were told a table could be available when required. When we were ready we came in and were directed to our table. A round table near the door. The pub was busy but not full. There were other tables that probably would have been a better choice. Our orders were taken (menu has wine matches with the meals) I ordered the roast loin of pork with crackling. He ordered roast sirloin of beef. All roasts come with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, braised red cabbage, broccolini, greens, roasted roots (we had parsnip and carrot) and lashings of gravy. We waited quite awhile for our meals to come. At one stage one of the staff came to ask if we were waiting for food. Plates served, there was definitely lashings of gravy but I had to hunt for the crackling. It was a good meal, good serving. If I had to be picky I’d say the pork was a bit dry but it was smothered in gravy so I didn’t mind. Be nice to see the gravy served in a jug so you can add your own. No one came during the meal to check if it was ok or if we wanted more drinks. Bloody Mary needs a little bit of work but ok. Disappointed to be charged 10% service charge on the bill. I don’t mind paying for service but didn’t feel that the service warranted the charge. Overall I enjoyed my meal, I would go back."

"This was our first visit here and only came due to the good reviews and they weren’t lying. Everything we ordered was delicious, generous portions and fairly priced. We had a lovely relaxed and enjoyable evening and will definitely come again."
