"After seeing an article in an Ottawa newspaper we decided to try this restaurant on a Saturday at noon. It is located in a non-descript building (not the one in the photo at time of writing this review) with ample parking at the back and a cute walkway from the back to the front entryway. The décor is light and welcoming, the restaurant clean and staff courteous and pleasant. With the help from our waitress, we shared several dishes from the non-north American Chinese menu and loved them all. The blend of spices was so different and just the right amount of heat. Observing all the other dishes being brought to other tables, guaranteed we will return very soon."

"EDIT: Recently visited Pong's again and got the medium Stranger Frings Poutine (fries and onion rings poutine). The food is as good as ever though prices have gone up because of inflation. Love that they layer the fries/rings, cheese curds and gravy so you get consistent bites. Comes in a clamshell that will barely close. Delicious gravy. Super crispy shoestring fries. Prepared fresh. Haven't had a proper poutine in years and this may be the best I've ever had. Love that they use shoestring fries and fried extra crispy to hold up to the cheese and gravy. Gravy is full of flavour and delicious. Curds were melty but still had that rubbery texture in the middle. Value is there too. The medium is quite a large portion with the clamshell barely closing shut."

"This is my regular lunchtime hangout. I go with my business partner at least once a week. It is excellent food at a low price, with steady, consistent service from the owner, May. The ambience is quiet enough for business discussions. For us, great value.The lunch specials are good quality, substantial servings, at a very reasonable price. I have been for dinner here a few times. The Peking duck is superb, but order ahead by an hour or two. Northern Chinese cooking. When you go, try something new. Ask for chilies and veggies added to the non-spicy dishes. Don't be afraid of the spicy ones. Ask May about the dishes served to the Asian diners at the next table, or ask for her recommendation.I like May. I like her restaurant. And I like her location at Preston and Somerset."
