"Still amazing after all these years. I prefer eating at the bar. The bartender is always efficient and friendly. Actually the entire staff is amazing. The food is still incredible. The pancake souffle is what dreams are made of. It's a small place so do plan ahead and make reservations well in advance."

"Food was absolutely delicious, and the wait staff was incredibly polite. Dishes are a bit pricey, but totally normal for a higher scaled NYC restaurant."

"On our very first visit to NYC almost a decade ago now, we recall a very early wintry morning traipsing through the Financial District, before the crowds descended on the brassy bronze bull sculpture, before the traders and suits commenced business on Wall Street and Broad Street, before the commuters flooded the trains and ferries. Perhaps, quite unlike any other part of Manhattan, there is a very pervasive sense of history in FiDi. Maybe, it’s the twisty labyrinth of new roads and cobblestone roads. Maybe, it’s the way the sun timidly filters through laneways between the tightly-spaced buildings, a mix of old drinking taverns that once saw seafaring voyagers, intermingled with sleek contemporary spaces that house hundreds upon hundreds of office workers. Ten years later today, as our day-time work is situated in this area, we sadly, scurry from FiDi as soon as the work day is done. On occasion though, such as when we visited the glorious Manhatta, these Dessert Correspondents have been tempted to spend our off-work hours in FiDi, albeit with slightly thumping, PTSD-like anxiety. And, Augustine — with its exquisite afternoon tea cakes — is certainly one such place that deserves re-visits — it is an escape to one moment in Vienna in New York."

"Almost everything was very good. Black sea bass tartare was fishy and needed to be returned. They happily replaced the dish. I would say the staff is not as knowledgable as I've come to expect in Michelin starred restaurants, but they were entirely pleasant. While it's not three star Le Bernadin, the seafood dishes were delicious. I would definitely return for another $300 meal. Oh, almost forgot. The bread definitely some of the best. Compliments to the baker. I want another piece!"

"I went here with a colleague because it was the only place in the area she knew of. Everything was fine except the toast on my sandwich, which was burnt but I'm sure better value can be had for the money."

"We had a reservation on Saturday night. The place was full, they couldn't seat us at a table, so we sat at the bar. The bartenders were too busy to speak to us for at least minutes, and then we had to grab their attention to get a drink. Getting the menu was another ordeal.I ordered appetizers which were terrible and were not at all what was described on the menu. The seasonal salad was essentially only beets, pickled mushrooms, sprigs of frisee, and all on one side of the plate. I had to ask for some greens. The roasted squash with duck prociutto was equally horrible: lumps of tasteless pureed squash, with overly salty duck bacon stuck on top. Half the plate was empty, no other garnish. The meat entrees on other tables looked well prepared, so I'm guessing that's what they know how to cook. So if you don't want to order a steak, blanquette de veau or tournedos, don't eat here"
