"We showed up in Baddeck in the peak of the season on a weekend a bit late in the day and we, like the zillion of other tourists, were tired and hungry. Come 7:00 pm we were all waking the streets like exhausted zombies looking for some food and a place to sit down. The most popular places were jammed so we didn't elect to try any of those and wait out the line. We found Village Kitchen in the back. Basic diner food, but good, fast, and made us feel a whole lot better."

"I wasn’t sure if I would like seafood chowder, but I ordered a cup at the Red Barn and it was delicious! My husband also love it. I had a lobster roll as well and it was great. My daughter loved her chicken strips and fries (the fries were awesome). After eating we played a fun round of mini golf."

"Staying in Baddeck for 4 days. Had to have a lobster dinner while here for sure!! We arrived at 6:00 to find a crowed venue but we gave our name and were seated within 15 mins. The lobster was phenomenal!! The shells were packed full and it was so sweet. Also served with a side of slaw, wonderful potato salad and mixed greens with tomatoes. Our server, Jayden (sp? , was fantastic. Despite the crowds and chaos, she smiled the entire time and was so attentive. We we never rushed. The service was great and food outstanding. I would totally recommend this restaurant. And ask for Jayden if possible. ;"

"We had such a great experience here, the food was delicious. we got all you can eat, and the waitress didn't judge us with how many mussels and chowder we got. then the lobster main course was unreal, such a big sweet lobster and even had a few side salads so it felt well balanced dessert and coffee was awesome too, hardly had room for it. I'd highly recommend stopping!!"

"We stumbled upon this little gem on a Saturday in August and were so glad we did! The owner was so friendly and sweet my kids adored him! (Especially when he offered them extra free smoked salmon samples)! We bought smoked salmon for an afternoon snack (even after he insisted there was no pressure to buy)...it was a great price. Came back later and bought Haddock and shrimp to take home. He gave me pointers on how to cook them and even let me buy the shrimp that his wife had intended for their supper that night! So sweet! We returned the next day but were sad to see that they were sold out of fish and closed. Will definitely be back if we ever return to the island! You will love the service, the seafood and the prices here!"

"Very disappointed in our meal here. Soup was relatively flavorless, Lobster dinner was very expensive and underwhelming. Even the service was not great. Recommend Freight Shed as an alternative."
