"Got told we ain’t got no spicy chicken, then just asked for regular and got attitude for it. Ordered 3 sides, after getting to the window was overcharged and laughed at. Pulled out of the drive just to find out I got a chicken sandwich and the wrong sides. Go back up to the window to tell them I got the wrong order and now “ they outs of chicken” “you get what you get man” Seriously, don’t waste your time showing up here, this store should be closed."

"We went to Des Fresh for lunch today. My very picky (meat) man got the fried tacos. He loved her! I have the crispy ranch with wedges. The sandwich was really crispy and the wedges were great. I also got her bottle of ranch. It's so funny to go to a place I can literally order everything from the menu. I highly recommend and my husband even agreed that this could be our weekend lunch place."

"It was great. The look, the smell and the fabulous service. I had salmon and brisket. How many times does a BBQ hack have salmon? Super cool. I WISH I had noticed the huge pan of Cornbread and had some. But I didn't see it. I had potatoes and cucumbers and onions that were both excellent. Good."

"I enjoyed lunch here with my wife we tried the sampler and I'm glad we did. Before arriving I had my heart on jambalaya but after tasting it I knew it wasn't for me, very dry less meaty than I'm accustomed to. The red beans and rice were as expected and good. The seafood gumbo was so good I got a small side to go with my blackened catfish po boy. The po boy was untrusted which would have vastly improved the bread. The quantity of catfish seemed sparse for the size of the French roll. The cornbread was good. The The etoufee was not my bag, kind of spicy gravy with a little meat over rice. The greens were tasty although heavier on vinegar than I prefer. The green beans were good and the potatoes in them were an interesting surprise. The Mrs enjoyed a spicy fried catfish entree which was delicious I wished I had gotten those filets on my po boy as the blackened seasoning was bland. All in $50 for lunch seemed reasonable for the variety we had.I would return for the food the waitress was fine the cook staff who essentially are staring at you when you arrive said nothing and acted like we weren't there.. I believe he was the owner as his picture was on the wall,, not sure if he was having a bad day but saying, hi welcome, have a seat we'll be right with you goes a long way, as does, thanks for stopping in."

"We have just been there once.... So far! We will go back. Placed an online order easily. It was ready when we arrived. The inside looked very clean! (Which I am a stickler. The order was correct and prepared and packed well. The food was great. The only thing I would suggest is less salt but over all, for a vegan place in Des Moines? Yes, please!"
