"Date night dinner with the husband and came here at the suggestion of a friend. We were greeted and chose an outside table. The weather held to allow for this although inside looked fine but did not feel as casual. Had the mango shrimp dinner and my only critique would be to allow me to choose my adventure with the mango salsa....the fried tortillas that wrapped the shrimp were a tad soggy from the juices. The flavors were all there though. The enchilada dinner was good too the meat was super tender and were not bland at all. Now as for the beans (both black and pinto) and the rice (both Spanish and lime) felt like afterthoughts. To make a fair assessment we ordered both. The rice and beans lacked any additional flavors or spices to make them special and the rice was slightly undercooked. Not bad just not new and exciting. The margarita was pretty spot on for a good drink but would only have one as the price would be for a whole gallon of margarita at any other Mexican restaurant. Overall would totally come here again. Perhaps will opt for the appetizer portion instead of the dinner portion to not waste the rice and beans."

"Terrible service and efficiency for a “fast food” place in a food dish. waited 40 min to get a meal (1 meal in 8 min. the other in 40 min) they forgot to make the second meal and we had to check the staff 3 times on eating, it wasn't until the last time that they finally made it. eating was ok- nothing remarkable, but disregard and bad communication to the girls and the manager with me = 1 star."

"Cactus Flower Cafe in East Hill! The owner took our to go order on the phone; she opened this place after moving from California to try to help with the?we?ll say lacking?availability of cultural food in Pensacola. She delivered! The chicken enchiladas (pictured first were hands down the best enchiladas I?ve ever had. Order them. The SoCal burrito (pictured second was fantastic as well as enormous, the picture doesn?t show a good angle but it was about as big as a plate and loaded with steak and potatoes. The refried beans were fresh and not greasy and the lime rice was like a premium version of what you?d get at Chipotle. Not pictured was the guac which was the best I?ve found in Pensacola. I too moved here from California (a trend? and this is about as close as it comes as far as freshness and the ?west coast flare?. A clear cut above the other Texas themed Mexican joints around here. I think some of the local trucks adequately hit the CA street food vibe (Tacos Mexicanos, El Asador, etc , but this place had all the comforts of your classic family owned Mexican restaurant in California that uses premium ingregients and homemade recipies. I will be going for a run tomorrow though. The restaurant is a sweet vibe too with a coffee shop attached to it all open until 9. Will be back soon on a non school night to try their fresh squeezed margaritas. Cheers!"

"This was my first visit, but it will not be my last. The food was great which is why most people go out to eat, makes up for the fast food seating and atmosphere. My group had a variety of their food choices, and all looked good, but my blackened shrimp was excellent!"
