"Whitebait and garnel for appetizers then we both had the seabarsch with a butter and chili sauce from the special menu. it was sweet, served with smashed new kartoffels and very fresh salat. this small caffe consistently delivers."

"We stumbled over this little gem of a restaurant during the visit to dovercourt one evening and the smell of the food was so mouthful water that we said that we had come back tomorrow with the rest of our travel companion to eat here. I'm glad we did this. this food was amazing! the experience began with the owner ibrahim greeted us as soon as we entered the restaurant. this is a wonderful man we soon found out puts so much time and love in eating as he does to make sure that the customer is happy. his attentiveness to ensure that we understood the dishes and what it contained was a refreshing change in the hurly atmosphere that has the majority of restaurants. a member of our party has a nut allergy and ibrahim ensured that the ordered court would not have cross-contamination or contact with any nuts. the food arrived and our thoughts were absolutely bleeding. everything was fresh, tasty, and the presentation of it was something they would find in a five star restaurant. the dishes were a large part of the food, but above all the quality was there. everything on the plate perfectly matched to each other, and there was so much taste in every dish that we all wanted that we were hungry so we could continue on this tasteful journey through the menu. the Turkish meze bar fulfilled and surpassed all expectations and I guarantee that I will let everyone I know participate in the kitchen and atmosphere of this amazing small restaurant. the prices are very reasonable, and no word of a lie that if this restaurant was in london, they need a reservation and expect to pay double. I hope everyone has the opportunity to meet ibrahim and his wonderful family during the Turkish meze bar. please go and experience the amazing food he serves proudly. amazing!"

"We 've been to this hotel 's restaurant a few times now, having stayed at the hotel a few nights since it has reopened. The food, in quality, quantity and authenticity is near exceptional. We 've rated this establishment excellent despite the ambience of the restaurant severely lacking something and if you 're not engrossed in the company you are with and don 't allow your taste buds the free licence to indulge, you will find the setting rather bland and like a refectory style eatery. However, the food more than compensates many times over for the lack of charm this place offers and which we frequently associate with most Greek restaurants. One night we had the Meze, which was a feast fit for a King, and his Queen, and their trailing entourage and ample left to satisfy their small army in tow, too! This place is for the more the merrier! The other night we went for grilled Sea Bass, which we opted to be accompanied with fried potatoes (and further chaperoned with a magnificent Greek style salad) which altogether redefined and brought to us a total new meaning to fish and chips by the seaside! We just loved it all so very much! Thank you The Souvlaki Bar. A must visit if you 're in the area!"
