"Absolutely disappointed by the manager's attitude : even if you seem to have had a bad day, it is totally unacceptable to speak to a customer like this, especially when there is no reason for that we were just placing orders and I just wanted to not let my friends pay for their cones there was no need to take it personally and to escalate a non sense, really . I put 2 stars is for the other guy in the shop: he has a great sense of customer service, thanks for not turning our ice cream treat into a bad experience."

"Yes I do eat out a lot especially cafés. I only give honest reviews sometimes too honest . Called in on the off chance the weather would stay clement . It's a café we have visited before with excellent food. Now offering takeaway. As usual...we must support them. This time roast beef sandwich and turkey and cranberry sandwich. Presented in takeaway box . Good fresh bread , very fresh salad with cous cous. Followed by( I know I shouldn't have delicious fruit strudel . Coffee and tea were very good. Luckily it stayed fine so we had a very pleasant lunch in the church yard watching the swallows . Highly recommended this café "

"Really lovely cafe that we stumbled upon on our trip to Grasmere last week. The sandwiches were so fresh and the soup was lovely and both were very generous servings so brilliant value for money. The coffee was also great and piping hot which I struggled to find! The owner also gave an amazing recommendation for dinner that evening and we went back to thank him the next day before we left but we were unfortunately a bit too early."

"This pub with rooms, only has a few rooms but they are luxurious and comfortable. There were lots of little, local touches in the room. I stayed as a stop over of a longer journey so opted to eat in the pub. It was clearly popular with locals as there were lots of people eating. The menu was filled with locally sourced foods and my meal was excellent. I would certainly stay here again as it was worth heading away from the motorway a short distance. They also have a house speciality drink based on Kendal mint cake!"
