"I was looking for a well lit place to have a late lunch/early supper and read my book. I live close by but have never been in Joya before.Right away there is complimentary green tea :) The restaurant was nice and warm even though I was seated near the front window-wall that lifts up in the summertime. Service was swift with a smile, food was good quality - I will likely return :) There is a 2nd floor where they take reservations for private parties.My two wishes are that there would be bento boxes on the menu, and wild not farmed salmon."

"So I came with my husband and 4 yr old for dinner one evening, he dropped us off first because it was raining heavily and he went to find parking.Me and my daughter went in and told the hostess my husband will be right in and seated us at a booth.Within 5 mins she came back around to ask how much longer he will be and told me very frankly that they have a one hour limit for seating at an all you can eat restaurant.Well that ruined my mood to say the least.We rushed through dinner, they didn't show up with a quarter of the food we ordered and we will not be going back again.How about the owners review how their staff treat customers, we used to come to spring sushi almost once a week and oh how things have went DOWNHILL.Too bad now, I DONT recommend going unless you want to pay to get rushed through your meal and not get a good quarter of what you order."

"Spicy Salmon Roll $7.50): 7 10Spicy Tuna Roll $8.50): 7 10Both rolls were tasty and large! There was lots of fresh fish on top as well as inside the roll, which really fills you up nicely. I really enjoyed the fact that it was actually hot spicy). I would definitely be back to try more of the menu. Everything was fresh and the prices are very fair for the food quality and quantity. I'm sure the special rolls are excellent and will be trying some next time to update this review!"

"My family has been there twice since we moved in Hamilton this May. I admit my family has been lived in Korea for all our lives and this kind of Korean food is not quite authentic Korean dishes. Nonetheless their food is quite good enough except the Jajangmyun-famous Korean Chinese noodle. Yes, like other opinions here, I agree with their kindness!"

"This was my first time I tried the whole hot pot experience, so I have to admit that I don't have much to compare it. In fact, when I told the waitress that, she suggested that I try something different than it takes a long time. I wasn't really in a hurry, but went with the recommendation and ordered some kind of hot/spicy noodle soup. It was pretty tasty... and yes... really hot. I also had two spits of lamb, that was SO yummy. In fact, if I did it, I would just order more lamb and eat it for the whole meal. Watching others in place, making the whole hot pot experience was fascinating and I plan to return with my wife and children to try. The negatives? I found the menu a little hard to follow/understand and the place was quite cold/drafty. Also note that they only take cash. I can't say I'm really gonna decorate the whole place with photos of your cat... but this is not really here or there for me... I'm just not a cat. Anyway, I'm planning to go back and try this place again, because I'm really indecision as I feel about it. What I'd say is that what they did well, they did really good and what's going on is really going on."

"Pros. The table service was actually great. We have been several times and were lucky enough to have the same server each time! He is so quick, never frazzled and always efficient. Doesn’t miss anything.The food was great, came quickly.However the host was miserable!!! When she went to seat us, we asked if we would be able to have a booth instead of the table this time… well that seemed to upset her a great deal. It was like she was the gatekeeper of the booth. She rolled her eyes, got all snippy, I think she began to sulk about it!!.. I actually said forget it, we don’t want to upset you. Figured this may have been a one off and maybe she was having a bad day until we saw another host do the same thing to another table!! It seemed like they unexpectedly had more people arrive for their dinner and asked to move to a table outside. Well what a huge inconvenience that was for her!!! I actually heard her say..’well now we have to sanitize this one again so I don’t know!’The point is if I’m paying money to dine in your establishment I should be able to sit where I am comfortable. That being said, I’m aware of the way things go when seating tables to keep things even etc.. bottom line, there’s a way to communicate with people and that is NOT it!! The young girls ‘hosting’ (angrily marching you to your table) need retraining! Thankfully our experience was redeemed by the amazing server at our table!!"
