"Otera house is a great vegan restaurant, I loved my meals here! the lunch packages are really delicious, fresh and healthy. the lunch package was 1000, 1200 with a drink or 600 for a take box. it is close to busy shopping areas, but feels so peaceful and quiet. updated by the previous review on 2021-06-03"

"Loved this cute restaurant. It's very cozy and the food is fantastic (and freshly made! . That, paired with the whole atmosphere made us come back even though we only stayed a couple of days in Kyoto. The owners are so so friendly as well. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but still very much enjoyed the food."

"After reading the reviews of this place, I went out of my way to check it out. It has a nice little cafe vibe and the owner was friendly. The food was fine; it was good pasta, but not on the level of the other reviews, IMO."

"A small cozy restaurant with an living room kind of atmosphere. It took us some time to decide, but the staff was really nice in explaining to us all the different things on the menu. I ordered the Mongopan pizza as well as the fried noodles. Very filling and yummy The price was also very reasonable!"

"We sort of stumbled upon Kisaki as we were wandering the philosophers path. My parents both lived in Japan for over five years, but that was almost thirty years ago now. Kisaki was the authentic, traditional restaurant we had been looking for. We were warmly welcomed, and ended up being the only guests that night. The two waitresses/hostesses fomented on my sloth themed Christmas sweater and walked us through the proper way to eat the meal. This is a shoes off, sit on a tatami restaurant, so bring your nice socks. The food was excellent, and not too expensive. Between 2100 and 2800 yen a head. If you are in the neighborhood, I can not recommend the experience enough!"

"Really cozy and welcoming. Super silky broth. A little hard to find at night, but the red lantern helps. Possibly, with the line to reserve."

"Now entirely vegan restaurant in central Kyoto. About the food: Good food. Been there several times and had a tasty tofu-burger don (see picture) for 950 yen (L-size). Doria was very good, made with soy milk and coconut flakes to add some crustiness. Ramen is okay but doesn’t have a strong flavour mostly tasted like coconut milk really and sadly uses spaghetti instead of ramen noodles. Tofu cheese cake tasted really good but looked brown instead of white. Other: There is an English menu. I like the interior. Very cosy, but with lots of space. The cutest place is meant for families and if you don't bring kids you're not allowed in, not even if the rest of the restaurant is full. It's often full at noon so go early or be prepared to wait for 30 minutes . Updated from previous review in March, 2022. Updated from previous review on 2016-08-17"
