"It wasn’t cheap, but the recommendation was well founded. Had the gnocchi as a main course, and the semi glacé for dessert. Both went well with a glass of the house wine red. Italian restaurants are plentiful in Basel. This one is special the building, the decor, the whole lot. Will definitely come again!"

"Was here with friends for a spontaneous dinner. Really nice interior, great staff and delicious food. A refreshing athmosphere, definitely a goto-place. Dishes could be a little bigger, but still reasonable for the price. Can recommend the schnitzel!"

"I politely asked the waiter if there is a space available in the terrace. He ignored my request twice as if he were invisible! I'm totally mad at this kind of attitude. Please teach your waiter to steal how to respect people, and if he is not able to ask him to change the job. Unholy waiter!!!"

"War wieder einmal im Tapadera- und einfach nur begeistert. Das bestellte Filet war wunderbar gewürzt und perfekt nach meinem Wunsch saignant gebraten. Das Gemüse dazu herrlich knackig und mediterran. Der Service wie immer sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Und in der Weinliste habe ich eine mallorquinische Perle zu einem sehr anständigen Preis gefunden."

"I came here with some very foodie friends. The waiter we had was wonderful, he was very helpful and knowledgable of the menu. We started off with the Brüggli Char which was exceptional. The fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce complimented it well. We then had the salmon ravioli which were very unbalanced and didn’t taste great. They were not ravioli but dumplings using what we think was rice paper wrappers. They were rubbery and had a very earthy flavour which wasn’t pleasant. The waiter very happily exchanged the dishes for us. My friend had the beef tacos which she said were very good (as an American who knows Mexican food I think that’s a huge compliment). The reason I only gave this place an average rating is that the food was just okay. There are in my opinion other restaurants in town that do better food for a similar price."

"Looking for a break from Swiss German food we tried this Italian restaurant. We received a friendly greeting on arrival and the waiters spoke good English (although everyone in Basel seems to speak good English). We had the salad to start, which was excellent. For...mains we ordered a spaghetti amatriciana and the pasta special of the day (which involved porcini mushrooms). After we had finished the salad, a waiter appeared to tell us that there were no mushrooms left and suggested we switch to the pasta with truffle oil. We did so, although we discovered the next day that we had still been charged the higher price for the special we should have checked the bill more carefully. There was a lengthy wait for the mains I suspect that after they had been cooked the staff simply forgot to bring them out (when we complained to a waiter, who seemed to be chatting to his friends at the bar, the dishes arrived very quickly). The mains were pleasant but not exceptional. The “house wine” (one of the three red cheaper wines that they offer) was also pleasant. A satisfactory meal with friendly staff but marred by the long wait for the main course"

"Après avoir vu l'émission sur kabel eins nous sommes allés manger dans ce restaurant qui avait été élu le meilleur des 4 restaurants en compétition. "Eating was amazing. we ordered tagliatelle with truffles and cordon bleu with frits. the pasta was fresh and the truffles composed the pasta really good. the frits are thin and crispy and the cordon bleu is very tasty."
