"This was our first time there, and we will return. Everything was great... cooked perfectly. I had the fixed price meal .... warm mushroom bacon salad, rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce, fries crisp vegetables and bread pudding for dessert. My wife had...salmon with maple glaze that she thoroughly enjoyed. The service was good. They allowed us to have a leisurely meal which we were after. The atmosphere was quiet and candle lit."

"This restaurant is very nice and the food is pretty good. The menu is limited but everything on it is quite tasty. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a nice steak with all the trimmings and a good bottle of wine. It has a very relaxing atmosphere with a courteous and professional staff that make you feel welcomed from the first minute."

"Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights before my tour started. I ate in the Carriage Room twice and noticed a few local's eating here..... always a good sign. I had lunch once and breakfast. For lunch I had the beef burger and I did find the paddy a bit dry and could've used some spices. The thing I wasn't impressed with was my server. She seemed to almost find it a chore to serve me. At the end when I asked to pay and requested to pay by credit card she told me to pay on my way out. I had watched her take the machine to other people sitting at their table. Another server came with the machine so I was able to pay. I also wasn't told about the special's but rather heard there even were some by hearing another server recite them. Breakfast on the other hand was good and my server (a different one) was very attentive and helpful. I'm glad I didn't have another meal there. The room itself is very charming and the murals are very well done."

"Cozy old world feel. large menu of Canadian and Chinese food. the amazed suppe was the best I ever had. large portions for combo plates usually under $10 extremely reasonable. steak pork chopt clubhouse sandwiches and more. decoration a little dated. but the place has been there since my birth. still cozy and clean. the service was decent. desserts come with most of the Candain menu art by desire they came with the combo plates aswell. all round 5 stars one of the best expeditions I had in the opposite, eating so far and they do to go."

"Nice, tudor style hotel. It is generally well maintained and clean. I am not sure if the restaurant is (or restaurants are) good, as I have not eaten there. It is also the home of Bay FM (formerly Bay of Islands Radio or BOIR), which is the only independent radio station in the Corner Brook area."
