"We waited almost 1.5 hour for our food and we didn't get what we ordered. A friend of mine is Jewish and ordered a pasta fruti de mare and they put bacon in it. After adressing the waiter he made his excuses and said he would take care of it. He came back with the same plate and scraped the bacon out of the plate. The waiter reacted agitated when we complained about the pieces of bacon in the food. We decided not to finish our meal and paid the full amount. Enough places in SM to go. Don't go to restaurant Eli's."

"Y bien llegamos al Gran Manuel, se ve un restaurante típico de la zona con bastante imagen en el Sector (muy reconocido), nos hemos decidido todos por la cazuela de mariscos, pese a que su carta es bastante amplia. La atención del personal muy diligente y amable, pero no venden productos Coca Cola, no obstante nos consiguieron unas en forma externa y nos solucionaron.Finalmente excelente la cazuela de mariscos, con raspado de taza y todo, muy rica. Se acabo el arroz de coco, pero el sabor y la variedad del recado, compensó."

"I had some kind of special with fish and shrimp, and a huge strawberry juice. Absolutely fantastic. The owner was super friendly. I also ate at a couple of the fancier tourist-oriented places near the Parque de los Novios. This was a hundred times better."

"We had out boat parked in the marina and were wandering around looking for food and found this great place. There is no nameplate on the hotel/restaurant, so it might be hard to find on purpose. The food and service were excellent. The waiter did an admirable job of helping out with our horrible Spanish and was very attentive. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was delicious. My husband and son had the creamy chicken soup and were quite pleased. I had the prawns thermidore -- fantastic. My daughter had the sea bass and loved it -- they must have improved it since the previous review. Anyway, quite an enjoyable experience and not cheap but reasonable for high-end food for those on US dollars (given the current exchange rate) at 240,000 pesos for a family of four who got appetizers, margaritas, and dessert in addition to the main dishes!"

"I lived in Santa Marta for two years and was so excited when this restaurant was opened. It looks at the beautiful Parque Miguel and both the restaurant and the park are two of the best kept secrets of Santa Marta. Robert and Jim are among the most friendly guys you'll ever meet and they've designed a knock menu. They are proud of what they have created (as they should be) and offer excellent service and great conversation. I had the veggie tacos, the shrimps po-boy and the Pasta Primavera and all three were amazing. The restaurant itself is housed in a beautiful building and the bar has an excellent selection of beers, both locally and imported, many from Germany. It would be a shame to miss this place when you visit because the food is great and Parque Miguel is also fantastic. If you're a local, stop. This place must become one of your regular meeting places."
