"I hardly ever leave reviews of any kind, but felt compelled to do so in this case. As a British Indian Restaurant “BIR” obsessive, I left London terrified that I would never be able to find a great example of our nation’s proudest cross-cultural culinary achievement on the Essex Herts border. After years and I do mean, years of disappointing flailing and compromise, I am delighted to report that these guys have it absolutely nailed! Everything is perfectly judged and fresh. Even the little giveaway signs delight me, eg. fresh slivers of green chilli and potato slices in crispy samosas which elsewhere would be microwave mush. These guys are brimming with care, expertise and integrity, and, my word, it shows!"

"Stopped for a break with the family and what a relief to have some healthy food available at a services. Superfood salad was awesome and he smoothie was such a great change from another motorway coffee. Please please please roll out more of these at motorway services!!"

"Fish and chips in saffron forests now make gluten-free fish and chips, my wife is celiac and milk unbearable, so we gave it an attempt to absolutely fantastic many chips and beautiful size rocks, it must try our Monday meal in future. it has delivered the time that was hot."

"Love this place. I was looking for a great local place to eat, with fab food and service and this is the place for us! I'm pretty picky but really, I can't fault it here and quite frankly, I wouldn't want to. Food is always cooked just right and portions are good sized. Staff are friendly and attentive. Clean and comfortable surroundings. Sunday roasts are very popular and you do need to book. Always a good flow of people here, a clear sign of a well run business. Well done and thank you for so many lovely meals."

"I had lunch in this gorgeous pub yesterday with my husband, my his partner. The food was absolutely delicious, 2 x goats cheese and pear salads, 2 x Wagyu burgers with chrispy onion rings and chunky chips. Eton Mess and apple crumble with custard to finish. We sat in the beautiful garden surrounded by glorious flowers, and were the last to leave before the pub shut before evening service. The staff were absolutely amazing and service was impeccable, I don't know the name of our lovely waitress but she was a young blonde girl...so attentive and made our lunch experience all the more enjoyable. Thank you so much, highly recommend this wonderful pub!"
