"We always try to find small independents rather than service stations to stop off on journeys and we chose Greens based on the great TripAdvisor reviews. We weren’t disappointed! Huge salmon salad, home made soup and tasty ciabatta, just what we were looking for. Lovely...home made food run by a very friendly team. If I lived nearby I would be a regular!"

"Best test of a gastro pub is a busy Sunday lunch, and the Boot excelled with great service, friendly and polite, and really high quality food. Plenty of choice, not just the simple 3 roasts. With our party of 5 adults and 3 young children we had a variety of selections and all were top notch. Full marks for the tender roast beef and the most interesting fish curry. A little wait for the desserts was worth it and the pistachio soufflé was best ever. They’re doing everything right and deserve to do well. We had Doombar beer with mains but checked out the wine list and it had a broad range at various price points. The mark-ups weren’t too excessive, which is a relief in the post covid world."

"Been wanting to try this restaurant for ages and finally we got here on bank hoilday Monday great variety of options and separate fish menu too! One of the best fish restaurant visited this year all food freshly cooked perfectly and good sevice too! best restaurant visited during help to dine out and will certainly be returning again soon!! "Popped into for a pizza for the kids. The place was empty which should have been a warning given how busy this area is with every other outlet virtually full. The gentleman serving was polite and apologised as he was short staffed. I asked several questions regarding menu options as there was a 'kids menu ' however he seemed to know very little about it so to save time I just ordered a Pepperoni pizza.. The Pizza took about 25 minutes to prepare and was absolutely average. Given that there is a Dominos less than 2 miles away which would have been half the price I cannot see how this business will survive as it has nothing going for it, no value, no quality, no service. I observed the food preparation as another guest arrived jus after we did. everything appears to be pre prepared and heated up in a microwave not exactly the fresh culinary experience that their franchised 'web site ' promotes. I would avoid, and much as I hate to recommend a 'chain ' visit Dominos instead."

"Everything you expect From a country pub. Meals, drinks. A gorgeous fire even the pig enjoyed it.(see photos) staff really helpful friendly and polite and it was very well used. You really should pop in. Thank you to the young lady barstaff who brought us our cappuccinos by the fire. X"
