"Just finished our annual Christmas luncheon for people. This a great spot that is well set up for large groups. We were welcomed promptly at our assigned time. Table was ready with lemon water for everyone. Waitress quickly asked for drink orders. The extensive...buffet has something for everyone from soups, salads, vegetables, meat , chicken and fish to tasty desserts. This is great value for the cost and the guys live being able to load up their plates. We return here every year. There is lots of parking"

"Would like to give 4/5 for the good food, but I called an hour ahead to place my order (admittedly a big order for 9 people to pick up just after noon on Saturday) and they said they could have it ready. I was 5 minutes later getting there than I hoped, and the order was not ready. They said 5 minutes, but I waited about 20 minutes until it was ready. When I got home, my order was missing two servings of white rice I had ordered. The food was good, especially the hot and sour soup (not too thick and starchy, nicely sour and hot but not too hot), fried dumplings (meaty and nicely seasoned with ginger), crispy beef and vegetable lo mein."

"Went there a few evenings ago. Although I was close to home, I decided to venture in as most times that I went by, it was closed. I was quickly seated and served right away. I ordered something called Singapore noodles. I asked the waitress what it consisted of just to be sure. She replied: BBQ pork, shrimps, onions and curried noodles. Within three minutes or so, my plate arrived. I was very surprised but delighted as I was quite hungry and tired. Yuk! Not nice blend or good quality curry powder at all. I counted two shrimps, one left whole and the second one cut in half. There was about 5 or 6 sprouts which she claimed as being vegetables???and a tiny piece of BBQ pork and perhaps I should say minuscule to be more accurate. It was about 1/8 thick by 1 1/2 wide and high, cut into tiny matchsticks. As for the onions, they forgot to put them in. Faster to cook this way too. Let 's save on energy too, what the hec! The waitress asked me how everything was and as soon as she saw the look on my face, she turned around tending to Chinese customers without ever bothering about how I really felt about their culinary inexperience. It was 98% noodles! I complained to the cashier, who then told me that there was meat in it. REALLY? I 'd need a magnifying glass. Do they think that Canadians are that stupid? Even the noodles tasted HORRIBLE! I will never return in this lifetime. Pure garbage!!! Scammers."

"The restaurant has been in the area like 20 years and it is still there...so something must be right. I don't know the Royal Thai part very much but it seems like Thai cuisine by Chinese is not so authentic, but Palais Imperial is my go to dim sum place in Ottawa. It is better than any dim sum in Ottawa Chinatown in my opinion. Good selection of items with friendly service."
