"Fantastic food, friendly service, great atmosphere! We sat on the patio on a cooler evening, we were offered a blanket but the outdoor heaters kept us toasty! If you enjoy Greek food, this is a must!!"

"While they don't have that much in terms of full meals in their deli, they do have a great selection of salads, mediterranean dips, and sandwiches, as well as a terrific bakery. Our favourites are the Baba Ghanoush which has the most wonderful smoky flavour and...perfect texture. How do they get the eggplant to taste like that? We also love their beet salad with walnuts. Oh....and go to their bakery section and get some Turkish Delight....either with walnuts or pistachios (our favourite). And they have lots of grocery items too. Friendly folks run it....and prices are generally reasonable (although the Greek Salad is a bit pricey, and its not one of their best dishes)."

"We have used this James Bay pub as our local on annual visits to Victoria over more than a decade. In the last couple of years, under new ownership, it has got back to where it was a decade ago. It is still a bit rustic, especially the interior, but that is more charm than only neglectful decrepitude. Better in the summer when the beer garden is usable. The beer menu is wide with an excellent selection of mostly excellent local boutique brews. The house wine might best be avoided. The food menu is adequate and not too ambitious and everything is hot, fresh, well presented and substantial. Good pub food. The service is friendly and efficient and even available to umpire scrabble disputes - if unreliably. The food prices are modest by international standards, although the drink prices are of course affected by the BC tax and licensing regime The staff and clientele are eclectic."

"These folks are wonderful. Caterers didn?t show up, and the nice people over at Village Taverna saved the day on short notice. Food was excellent and big portions. Highly recommend this place!"

"I was looking forward to this lunch in Victoria BC but was disappointed. The added grilled chicken had a mushy faux texture. The quality and portion size of the Santa Fe bowl is way better in Ottawa’s Trainyards location."
