"We didn't stay more than a few minutes as the waitress was beyond rude. Obviously I was very unwelcome with my son and my enquiry about a high chair was met with a blunt terse no. She demanded to know if we wanted food before we'd even opened the menu, and as we asked about afternoon tea meaning just a scone and some tea and we're told no you have to give 24 hours notice. We were obviously an inconvenience so moved on."

"Amazing little find. Stopped off on the way home from holiday. Were made to feel super welcome by Gemma. She was fab, super friendly, accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. Although it’s a locals pub we were made to feel really welcome and the locals were lovely. The food is excellent value for money. It came out quickly, was all freshly prepared and the portions were extremely generous. I can’t rate this place highly enough. It’s everything a village pub should be. Will definitely return"

"My friend and I visited the Castle Inn and really enjoyed the experience of sitting next to a roaring wood fire. The food was excellent and well within two pensioners budgets. Well done The Castle Inn, Caldicot."

"We were lucky to be served as it was close to closing time on a Saturday evening. We were told we could only order one course due to this, which was perfectly understandable. The staff were friendly and attentive and the chef came out to...describe some of the dishes. The dishes we chose we lovely and of great quality. Would love to go there again"

"The staff were great and the vibe of the pub was good. The food wasn't the best. Came for a roast . We had a Eton mess for dessert and it was sad. It was one of the lowest effort desserts I've ever been served and it was also expensive! So I was really expecting more. The apple crumble had no dough and the apple wasn't properly cooked. Tasted more like apple sauce than a crumble. I always hate reviewing low especially when staff is great but the food was too shocking."

"A small café in the middle of caldicot which does not disappoint, it was very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and polite genuine people) there was plenty of choice on the menu and every meal we saw come out looked...lovely we opted for egg on toast and a lovely mixed salad and when it came out it looked too good to eat due to the lovely presentation but it also tasted lovely and my daughter can be very fussy, would definitely pop in again when I don't want to cook etc."

"Portion of chips and fish and chips with mushy peas ordered. Fish and chips were fine but the mushy peas were a carton of a few non mushy peas and the rest thin liquid. It's not cheap for a small carton of peas, please get it right. Staff not too friendly either and hard to park nearby."
