"The atmosphere was noteworthy — warm and lively without being crowded, a fire going on the patio, a nice volume level. A wonderful space for a date night or celebration dinner. The service was good — what you’d expect for an establishment of that caliber. The food was, sadly, a serious letdown — we tried 6 dishes and found only 1 of them to be worth ordering again. The mussels were truly spectacular, perfectly done with a flavorful and interesting broth. Unfortunately, everything else disappointed. The radicchio and gnocchi were both very one-note and lacked balance, the pork chop was significantly over-salted, and the chocolate tres leches and beef tartare were mediocre. Not what we expected from the admiral at all, and quite a bummer!"

"We order take out and loved everything. We each got ramen and we shared the spring rolls and sticky buns. Everything was awesome. We have been disappointed by so many meals in Asheville and this one was so good. Hit the spot after a long day of travel. It was the perfect comfort."

"It was nice to eat, but honestly overpriced for what it was. I appreciate the preparation that goes into the various elements, but I would hope that a $16 dish more than 3/4 gurke (it was also a little too salty and would have benefited from more soultang salat) the bores were overcooked, and the chicken bread was blanching. the maische was really the star of the show and I could have eaten a bowl of it. Finally, our service was differentiated. we waited a long time to be seen only by someone, once sitting and longer only on water and command. the people next to us came and were served better and faster. unsafe if I would return, but it is an interesting addition to the asheville culinary landscape."
