"What an amazing dining experience! The staff were wonderful with the perfect level of interaction that made you feel special as well as able to enjoy an intimate meal. The food was equally amazing and I'd recommend the matching wines option of course make sure you don't drive! Can't wait for an excuse to go back!"

"View is wonderful. decor is lovely. good service. mushroom risotto There was a mushroom soup for lunch which seemed a bit of a double up with the mushroom risotto as well. The risotto was pre-cooked and smothered in béarnaise sauce - awful. Please don't serve risotto if you are not going to cook it on the spot. I never mind waiting 20 minutes for a delicious risotto."

"Great service, good food. We went upstairs for the bistro/bar. Ordered the pork ribs and beef cheek burgers, couldn't let a spice challenge slip by with the naga chilli wings. Food: Food didnt disappoint; beef cheeks were juicy and tender, paired well with the garlic and rosemary shoestring fries. Naga chilli wings were nice, and the staff/owner/bartender were nice enough to show us some of the chilis they incorporate in the dish. However the star of the show were the pork ribs were super tender and delicious, could use a spoon to separate the meat. Wouldn't hesitate to take the 1/1.5 hour train up to Katoomba from them. Staff/Environment: Staff were super friendly and shared their immense wealth of knowledge/passion in their ingredients, dishes and alcohol. All in all, a great place that is a rare find; with passionate and friendly staff. If your around the area, let your palette explore this hidden gem."

"Beautiful old house converted into restaurant. Good service ambience, although no lighting in the parking lot made it difficult to maneuver after meal. We had the tasting menu, very reasonable 6 courses for $80. Pleasant surprise was the truffle butter that came with the bread. Total excellent meal definitely coming for a meal when you are in the mountain"

"We found a brochure in the accommodation and decided to buy takeaway dinner for 12 diners (8 adults, 4 children). Two adults wanted Chinese; five wanted Thai. Despite the less than glowing references and reviews that rated the several Chinese choices well and Gasiinsamut quite poorly, the majority of our party were taken by the menu here.And so we ordered.Ambience 1/5Service 2/5Food 2/5Value 2.5/5Walking in to collect our ordered food at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, three things struck us. (1) Cleanliness. The eat in area needed a good steam clean and some sort of grime removal. The floors were poor. (2) The emptiness. Was this really Saturday night in a mid-town restaurant? Why were there no seated patrons at 6:40-6:45pm? Maybe the reviews? (3) The curious staff interrelationship(s). A quite mature Caucasian man was ushering at the font door between fiddling with his massive mobile phone; a late-30s woman was bossing him and the younger male kitchen-hand/chef the whole time but turning to us and smiling and complimenting us profusely.The food was cheap and passable. A couple of dishes were overly oily but it was not a deal-breaker. There was plenty to eat but it was well short of the quality of the Thai we are spoiled with in and around Toronto/Lake Macquarie.The woman was helpful in assisting us get the massive order safely to the car. She added some "free" bottled orange juices when she gleaned that we we feeding children in our group.Not a bad night. Not as low as some of the other reviewers. I would not choose this place on a future Katoomba visit but it's not (in our experience) the pitfall that other reviews suggest in our collective opinion."
