"Never having been to New Glasgow before, or even Nova Scotia, it was always a bit hit and miss where would eat. But the West Side Bistro was everything we hoped it would be. The owners were delightful and interesting - and the food was excellent. Enjoyed every mouthful."

"Delicious unique preserves, amazing online presence, stellar customer service. This shop/ restaurant is a destination for any food/garden lover visiting PEI. When I think of PEI ... beaches, lupins, icecream, farms, pottery, antiques and PEI Preserves! Such a lovely spot with quaint gifts and a cosy cafe filled with homemade goodness. You can even get a peek at the production area and stroll through the gardens overlooking the serene Clyde River. Love it so much!"

"Four of us enjoyed breakfast here, not only because of the food but because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the waitresses. The restaurant itself is very stark but you soon forget that when you're enjoying good coffee and breakfast, as we did."

"What a FIND! Ticks all the boxes of service and atmosphere but more importantly is off the charts on the food! Had fish cakes......best EVER-big and lightly fried-NOT deep fried! Full of fresh fish not just potatoes.Also shared the Lobster Alfredo.......I don't eat Alfredo but I DO HERE! AMAZING - lots of Lobster beautifully al dente vegetables - I did not want to share but had already committed. A must when you are in the area!"

"Stopped in for cute little lunch which ended in an upset stomach. We were provided cutlery with food still on them. We mentioned something and they were promptly replaced. She then brought us our waters but my glass had something in it as well as lip prints from the previous drinker. I asked for a can instead as I figured I’d be safe that way. Food was okay, exactly what you’d expect for a small diner. Seated next to the front door which was kinda chilly given the season and quickly cooled the food we were eating. Likely won’t be back."
